This franchise has been a joke for 30 years. Major market team run by ineptitude, nepotism, and greed. Not built for, nor run for its fan base.

Jerry and his minions will screw the state, pilfer us for parking, and make personal-based decisions w/r/t the on-field product rather than focus the organization around winning. 

We lucked into a lightening-in-a-bottle team and championship in 2005, which only allowed this clown show to continue with some polish. When finally faced with an opportunity to build a legitimate force based on some shrewd front office player development finally, we have not brought in the right talent and free agents around it for the simple afore mentioned reasons. The final insult, as we all know, was to appoint Tony, the true king clown, to head it up only so that Jerry can fix some karma bullshit before he finally dies.

Until Jerry is gone, and even then, unless his idiot kids get out of the way, nothing will ever change with this franchise. We will waste having a mid-20s superstar, possible HoF talent, and be just mediocre during this run. 

What a shame. Glad Jerry, however, that you will die a multi-billionaire. Good for you.

I think JR should sell but if Gio wasn't trying to be so precise yesterday and Bummer and Kimbrel pitched like they are supposed to, the posts today would be about aligning the rotation for the ALCS. That isn't on JR.

Last three of the last four manager hires: Ozzie Guillen, ex-sox player, Robin Ventura, ex-Sox player, Tony LaRussa, ex-Sox manager. Rick Renteria- he was here as a coach, managed the Cubs, so just give it to him.

The real test comes now. The team has some great, young talent. Now, is this organization happy with contending or even dominating a weak division, or does it really want to turn this into an elite American League franchise? Rebuilding just to have some modest success isn't going to cut it. This team has been exposed during the last two months. Work still needs to be done. We will still see how serious the organization is. First thing: LaRussa has to go.

Even though La Russa has made some really mind boggling decisions, I don’t think he’s the main problem. However, I feel that maybe they should’ve hired someone like Cora or Hinch. They would’ve been a better fit for this team. Time will tell though.

Wasn’t the last manager dismissed almost exactly a year ago for some “mind boggling decisions” he made in the postseason that led to an early exit for the team?  

What are the chances the same standard is applied and the same outcome happens this year.

No chance he gets fired or retires this year. He is under contract for multiple years. Now if the same thing happens next year or worse, than I think he will be gone.

Ill never forget how JR  spoke about Larry Himes after he was fired. JR went on all the TV and Radio shows and  dumped all over Himes relentlessly.

I think a name to watch in the future for White Sox manager is Justin Jirschele.

I was a little kid at the time, what did he do?

Reinsdorf's problem is valuing loyalty over performance.  How many scouts get replaced or how many former players are involved in the farm systems and their ability is never questioned?

 The better big market teams still have great farm systems.  

 This isn't the only organization that's been a joke this long.

I thought I heard about it from somewhere like a video or podcast earlier in the season but maybe not. Either way, it’s got to be somewhere around that year since it’s a multi-year deal. Maybe it’s best to not post details like that on here without a good source so I went back and changed my post. Sorry about that!

2008 team had a better shot than this team does, Houston was by far the worst matchup they could've gotten

if they don't make some drastic changes (primarily coaching/training staff, followed by massive upgrades defensively, and then the glaring holes in RF and 2B and MGR), they might not even win the division next year

I think they are the favorites obviously but this organization is always a colossal fuckup when it comes to building sustained success, like they do not have a fucking CLUE what they are doing, but the nepotism isn't going to go away until Reinsdorf croaks or sells so the future is not bright imo.  the people running this team aren't as smart as they think they are.  

they should've traded Vaughn last year with some other pieces for a haul imo, that kid is doomed with this franchise, they don't have what it takes to groom him into what he's capable of

Sox lost two games because Lynn , Gio and the Sox bullpen got out pitched. Look for a scapegoat for them but it is what it is.

Lynn was overrated, especially by Sox fans who thought his appearance - a burly, beer belly - was just right for the South and maybe intimidated opposing hitters. LOL.

Sox needed two dominating starting pitchers to compete in the playoffs. Hahn could have added them during the last off-season or maybe prior to the trade deadline.

The Sox did not need Keuchel or Kimbell or Tepera.  Lynn is not a pitcher that is going to dominate a team like Houston, and has proved more than once than he isn't.

This post made possible because the Sox went 0-2 instead of 1-1 in Houston. You'd be happy if it was 1-1 entering Sunday's home game. Though I totally disagreed with the tank/rebuild, this team is, on paper, good enough to contend.

The funny thing is the farm system people have changed almost completely in the last 5 years.

It's the baseball version of GarPax in the FO.  That's the dorf's fault.

And yes, the players sucked yesterday, but also TLR didn't have to be manager and the VP doesn't have to be KW.

The dorf's cheapskate moves of Lynn and Rodon turned out great.  He won the offseason by default.  But then again failing to pay for a legit RF really hurt.  A good portion of what could have been Springer's money ultimately went to giant minuses in Kimbrel and Eaton who have only been considerably worse than the non-roster guys we already had in Charlotte.
