It's going to be a very bad look MLBPA to not take this deal at this point.

(Assuming the proposal is accurate)

Hope so. My feeling is if there are 1200 players that have a vote, more than 600 want to go to spring training now.

Looks like public opinion has definitely swayed if the players reject this deal.

Players shouldn't accept a draft. It's just a way to limit the choices players have and lower salaries. The goal should be eliminated the draft for everyone, not expand it.

The whole crappy system begins with a draft.

Draft limits bonuses not salaries. It limits the large investment in unproven players.

It only helps the owners. When players can only negotiate with one team it lowers salaries.

I don't disagree w/ what Eugene is saying, but it is ownership after all.  Of course they will add sweeteners for themselves.  But I'm still not seeing any real deal breakers in this proposal.  Maybe its just my desire for this shit to end and to have baseball back, but I still think this is a win for the players - for the most part.

The MLB propaganda machine is earning it's money today.

These negotiations are just like the regular season. We've had all the April through July plodding. Now we're close to clinching a few spots.

I just wish Joe West was calling the negotiations. What a circus that would be.

With Hawk doing color commentary.

"What's Joe doing now?  He needs a break, that's what he needs."

I think you are still confusing bonuses with salaries.

If "competitive" balance is what everyone is looking for and "bettering the game", then an international draft is a no-brainer.

There's a lot of dirty behind the scenes crap still going on today.

A draft will help fix that.

What are we missing?  Is there an anvil about to be dropped on us that we aren't seeing?

A big "IF" from Bob here.

Has anyone seen anywhere if they were still keeping 7 inning games in double headers?

I don’t believe they will continue. Same for man on 2nd in extras. Haven’t heard a word about either.

I haven't seen anything.

Although I believe it hurt us more than help us, I'm fine with the man on 2nd rule.    LONG xtra inning games are not good for anyone.

I am fine with it except I wish it didn't hurt the reliever who is on..  kinda lame.

No one knows but there sure is a lot of pressure on the players to accept this deal before the owners newest arbitrary deadline expires. It's also curious why the owners are suddenly so motivated.

I’m definitely for ties after 12, but if the man on 2nd rule continues, play the 10th and 11th regular, and then start it in the 12th.

Yeah, I get that.  I am curious what they snuck into the fine print this time around.
