Inside is the general consensus on the Sox righties. Abreu is the only one who can pull those fairly often, Eloy like to get his arms extended and hit his Bombs to CF and RCF . Robert seems to be able to hit them everywhere but is taking the Anderson approach to become a better hitter . Sheets likes to get out in front so he's more of a pull hitter which is what I'd love to see Eloy do more often .

The positive there is that Jimenez and Robert have so much power that it doesn't really matter because the XB hits will come regardless...but it's definitely a boost of 30-40 points on Eloy's batting average if he can hit against the shift/s occasionally.

The big mystery continues to be what happened to 2019 Moncada?  Long Covid seems to be the simplistic explanation, but there's a lot more to it than that.

Crochet at 98.   Brantley feeling sorry that Akiyama's hitting lefty against him.

CROCHET HURT.  GREAT.

This is probably the most exciting pitching matchup we'll get all spring, so good thing none of us are able to actually watch it

Isn't that how most contact is made ? You make it sound like the batter swings on the same plane every time and only makes contact if the pitcher accidentally  throw it there.

Crochet hurt

Ugh

wait no

?????????

DVS implying it’s arm related

Let's hope it's dead arm fatigue.

But doesn't sound promising.

Well, see ya in 2024 kid.

Sousa just made the team, didn’t he

His velocity was fine, so hopefully no surgery needed.

Was a ball way off the mark and dropped his arm to the side almost simultaneously...

Could be a strain due to fatigue, let's hope.

Yikes

Hard to imagine there's not going to be another long list of pitching injuries again this year...similar to 2020.  Hopefully this phenomenon with pitchers at high velo and the Tatis injury will be a lesson to owners about the consequences of all their "assets" going for months and months without any team medical attention during the offseason.

Does he bend his arm up after the previous strikeout?

Need to wait for the video and PTAC. Just going by Brantley description. He was more concerned with minor leaguers hitting against him and especially Akiyama going lefty lefty before he even got to the plate.

How is that name pronounced? Is it Sou-suh?

Crazy thing is the bullpen depth looks kinda blah now with Crochet out and Kelly gone for a month.  They’re going to be logging a ton of innings in April.

Well, now we'te close to reaching the point of worst Sox offseason ever.

Just reinforces the compelling pitching need...and the once a generation nature of Chris Sale as a beanpole lefty holding out for a decade before major injury.
