He broke out the curve!

Kopech out here throwing curves all of a sudden.

Oh hey look there’s the curveball

Kopech not having a put away pitch seems like it should be impossible

Kopech is gonna be nice the next 3 years if healthy. He is so much more comfortable as a starter.

He just doesn't have the best feel for that slider today. He also really hasn't located the fastball early in the count.

Mcguire is awesome back there.  Can't even be said enough how huge of an upgrade he is over Collins and Zavala.

Great slider to retire Meadows.

That strike 3 to Meadows is unhittable. I just wish he could throw it that way more often

nice inning!

Kopech's curveball is a pretty good pitch. If he mixes that in earlier in the game, his line would look a lot better.

Mixes in a 3rd pitch and it leads to an easy 1-2-3 inning

Exactly what you should do as you enter 2nd time thru lineup.

McGuire is faster than I thought

My friends who are Cub fans are not mad about Baez leaving them

Mendick just flexed on us all.

Baez is such a joke

That's pretty much what happened in all his starts last year. When the hitter has to think about 3 pitches, it's a lot harder. Plus you bring in a 3rd velocity to the table.

Thanks Javy

Mendick driving in McGuire. What were the odds that would happen?

I love the aggressive base running

Awesome ! if he can make it through the 4th with just the 1 run that would be a great way to start his season.
