I’d hope so, he’s been the worst player on the roster by far

He doesn't do anything special.  For whatever reason LaRussa loves him.  He should never get a multi year deal yet here we are.

He got the Boston walk off and playoff HR but is so mediocre.

  • I know it's a day game after a night game, but I hate TLR's decision to go with Potash over Van Schouwen here......it's short sighted nonsense.  I'm sure he will say it is to keep Daryl fresh for the

  • I initially read that second sentence as Mendick and Leury, so I took it as Leury was covering the Sox for the Sun-Times and it was like, man, his super-sub role is going WAY too far.

This is the funniest fucking thing I've ever seen

don't know how he did last year.  but i think youse guys are being a little rough on him.  he's a proven commodity.  having said that, i don't like his 3 year contract anymore than the rest of you

Proven at what?  What did you miss last year?  Any MiLB middle infielder can do what he does.  He is a switch hitter so TLR instantly puts him higher in lineup and plays him.

he's one of the most versatile players in the game.  that's why they gave him the deal.

Leury made “a play.”

Maybe that’s all he needed… hey, I’m trying here.

Sure, if "versatile" means playing multiple positions poorly.

Abreu looks overpowered by velocity

We really haven't hit the ball hard at all today.

Jose hasn't looked great so far

They really need to figure out how to hit RHP this season. Gonna see a lot of it next week.

he played 7 positions adequately last year + dh.  not many 'middle infielders' can do that. and last year it was sorely needed.  he deserves a lot more credit that some of you give him.

What happens when they face tough RHP.

Father time is undefeated. Just have to hope TLR actually gives him routine breaks and that he isn't gifted a lifetime contract until retiring.

And he's terrible at all of them.

Not having Yoan or Grandal hurts a lot vs. RHP

Mariners staff is gonna be really tough for the next 4-5 years

he's another slow starter.

He's a joke in cold weather. I wonder if he will be reliable in October.

He’s just dominating with his fastball today. Everyone is late or missing it.

We all know they will, lol

A lot of very hittable pitches missed today

Vaughn swung at ball 4 three times

Must be some sort of deception or carry

I thought you were going to cut down on hyperbolic hhot takes?

still not a fan of a three year guaranteed deal for a utility player. Not a lot of teams do that and for a good reason.

Just started watching. Small sample size but looks like our hitters bats are pretty sluggish
