They want more balls in play and for the running game to come back. HRs aren't balls in play.

Would be the dumbest decision ever.  Pitchers throw too hard now.

  • It's hilarious that people believe TLR is the main problem with this team and things will get solved in a snap when someone new comes in.  He's on a long list of much deeper issues

Just do even basic research. He's a terrible person.

  • I did that when my daughter was an infant because it was the only way to get her to fall asleep. ?

Yeah why don't you read that out loud and think about it again. Homeruns aren't balls in play....hmm.

Our Chuck not fired yet after calling out TLR.  Seems he changed his hairstyle these days to cover up for it receding lol.

Sox Math today one of the dumbest ones yet.

At least Vaughn is still hitting.  So there's that.

Vaughn is a good hitter.

Send him down to AAA for more at bats

Lol. I loved watching those 80s cardinals teams

Just fucking awful by Sheets. Embarrassing he’s batting 3rd.

God dammit Gavin. If anyone needs to go to AAA it's him.

Might end up being Sheets...

He looks exactly like he did two years ago in the minors

HRs don't count in the calculation of BABIP so they're not balls in play. balls in play result in outs, errors,  singles, doubles, or triples.

No chance, he’s the same mediocre talent they refused to upgrade over in the offseason.

I believe this is what MLB wants. They want it to be this difficult to hit HRs, and for hitters to adapt accordingly, or get left behind.

Only baseball would think scoring the long way would work in an age where almost everything is a click away

im about over the Sheets experiment

4 innings 48 pitches

2 double plays

2 hits

We absolutely suck!!!!!

No shock, but the lefties in the lineup this year have been a disaster.

3rd time through for Kopech, given how shaky his command has been today, seems like he's entering the danger zone

Coleman McGee Herr Clark Brunansky...Ozzie Smith and Pendleton.  Van Slyke.

Here's the problem though. Your idea of what the league would want to do hurts the league in an enormous way.

If they're rushing Moncada back I'm not expecting him to be any better.

I'd probably prefer Engel to Gavin every single day until Engel is hurt. Gavin just isn't cutting it.

Yep, velocity down again and continues to miss arm side

Fewer HRs and Ks, more balls in play and SB is the goal of MLB.

Not saying you are wrong but it'd be weird if true. Because the last handful of years it's been HR or strikeout and seemingly baseball was/is fine with turning games into home run derby. Suddenly they wanna bring it back to speed and balls in play? I don't know about that. I think it's still hitters trying to hit HRs and pitchers throwing sliders in the dirt to strike out eager hitters.

And you gleaned that knowledge how exactly ?
