That is a terrible pitch. Cueto's been getting hit hard all game. He doesn't really have good control today.

Amazing how Abreu just keeps sucking it up and playing thru pain.   That guy is built so much different, and probably more to do with heart than physically.  For a team full of grapes, it's

  • Abreu is also 7 or 8 years older than most of the core of this team. And yet, he somehow still plays through pain. I'm not sure if that's just the greatness of Jose or an indictment against the rest o

WHY CAN'T WE JUST BE NORMAL

Yea, that was one hell of a missed location.

Well that's not good.  Hopefully the bats can wake up.

Where the hell is Luery playing? How are the coaches looking at that and not telling him to move?

Coaches?...What coaches?

it would obviously be less irritating if our offense had much of a pulse today

That was a terrible pitch.  Sad thing is I would take the Orioles lineup instead of this current Sox lineup.

Yep

In normal circumstances, you'd say Leury was playing his way off this roster.

Teams were probably offering him a 5yr deal, glad he took a hometown discount

He absolutely sucks

He’s killing the team

They better wake up soon cause Baltimore has one of the best bullpens in baseball.

Need 5 from Cueto today. He does not have the command today

That's for sure.  When he's healthy he seems to play a lot for some reason.

I'll have a pretty hard time getting angry with Cueto for giving up 2-4 runs tonight, as good as he has been. I WILL be irritated with the bats, however, if they don't bother to put any runs on the board tonight.

Would someone tell Leury he is not Jim Edmonds playing so far in?

Play a natural outfielder in the outfield? What a novel concept!

Someone tell Leury to stretch the same way Eloy and Robert do

when you can get an ops+ of 29 in the lineup, you do so, especially if you can eschew a better defensive option

Probably PH Sosa against Lopez in the 9th and lower his confidence...

At least Leury called off the shortstop instead of smashing into his ACL.

Our coaches have been horrible along with the manager.  Leury playing CF is also a disaster in waiting.  Hahn needs to start looking for new upgraded coaches including 1st and 3rd base, bench, hitting, trainers, etc.  need to clean up the current swamp.

And replace a 25 wrc+, are you crazy?

fun fact: Madison Bumgarner  has a career 44 wrc+

Only because TLR can't fill out the lineup card with L.Garcia in two different spots.

Then again he might try.

That was a meatball pitch!?

What about VV?  Greinke?  Rick Rhoden?

Leury has looked really good in BP the last 2-3 games...right there on the precipice of turning things around.
