August 2, 20223 yr probably going to the dodgers then. Gotta tell you, as miserable as last night made me, realizing I went through 3 years of shit baseball after a decade of shit baseball, where I thought we were cleaning the house to bring up a bunch of young players to finally be able to get a big fish...and to see multiple top 5 players in the game become available...and to once again not have the budget. the players. the resolve. It is such a gut punch. This organization is the least relevant organization in the history of baseball. It used to be the padres. It used to be the astros. You can say rockies, and sure. But Rick Hahn has done no better than the rockies during his tenure. I really don't care what shitty moves this team makes. I only want (metaphorical) harakiri of all involved. I can't imagine getting one of the best jobs in the world and being so shitty at it for a decade.
August 2, 20223 yr Good for San Diego. Who knows if it works out, but they're 100% in. Can't say the same for the team we root for

August 2, 20223 yr I have a trip to Philly this weekend, bought tickets a couple months ago to see the Phillies host the Nats with Harper vs. Soto. That didn't work out as planned. Edited August 2, 20223 yr by MiddleCoastBias
August 2, 20223 yr I know he's hurt, but having two of the best 23 year olds ever in Tatis and Soto in the middle of that lineup is sick. Not to mention Manny.
August 2, 20223 yr Must be nice to add 3 all-star level bats at the deadline... I was just saying how San Diego's offense looked bad yesterday, but now they just added Soto, Bell, and Tatis will come off the IL soon.
August 2, 20223 yr Wow both Soto & Bell? Preller ain’t fucking around. Meanwhile, the Sox traded for a LOOGY with a -0.5 fWAR despite our largest three free agent expenditures the last two years being relievers.
August 2, 20223 yr You know it's always fun to look back at the Manny thread talking about how the Padres were broke and they couldn't afford him. They just got Soto and we all know his contract is going to be massive. Fun times.

August 2, 20223 yr Just now, fathom said: Shocked at how little it took to get him Yep, figured the initial statements of ask were too high. No Corbin contract, and not any big time current starters.

August 2, 20223 yr Author If I were the Cardinals I would be a bit disappointed. I like Jordan Walker way, way, way more than CJ Abrams. But yeah, to have a seat at the table you can't be a fucking lemonade stand doling out jobs to your rich friends kids.
