No. I think Alejandro Cruz sounds interesting but Sox aren't linked to any of the top players. 15 hours ago, Springfield Soxfan said: Read something today that Sox had a deal with some top 5 outfielder but Sox lost him to Mariners. Anyone know if true! Yorger Bautista is a guy who had an agreement with the Sox but they reneged on the deal I believe. He's signing with Seattle instead and is ranked as #5 prospect at Pipeline.

Is this due to the Marco Paddy change or greed?

They lucked into Tatis because of the father pushing him to the Sox, just like Elijah. They won Robert largely because of Abreu and that STL wasn’t perceived as a great place for black/Latin players, perhaps more racism or discrimination bordering on the near South (although to this day McGee Pendleton Ozzie three of the most popular ex Cards, Brock as well). Won Abreu because only Colorado and Sox needed a 1B. Alexei Ramirez was probably the best ever Sox scouting projection from limited utility player to RoY type talent. Ofc Eloy Jimenez was very highly ranked as well as he entered the Cubs’ system…still not sure who the talent guru is on the Latin American side, most likely it will be Keller making signing decisions, though.

It had nothing to do with being the highest bids?
