  • So much for all the fluff stories this past week about how "great" Romy looks. ?

  • The better defensive SS is at 2B. Only in this organization.

  • If I had to have a beer with one person from this message board, you would easily be my last choice. You’re such a loser.

Very good news. Played great last year, insurance at short in case Tim gets injured, cheap $$.

Let the bitching commence!

I like it.  He will be good in the clubhouse also.  He will be better than Harrison was

Nice insurance move on the cheap, buys some time for Sosa and Popeye. I wonder how mad will everyone be when 2018-2022 pre-Sox Andrus shows up and can't hit.

Remillard/Sosa/Romy fluff piece threat clipped $1-2 million off that deal...lol.

Well its better than nothing

Watch he records a -0.6 fWAR after losing his hitting coaches from last year.

Unnecessary and could clog up the minors.

Nothing says white sox like signing a bad player to play out of position

At the very least he should be a plus defender, just don't count on the fluke offense

the one redeeming thing is its only $3 million, which wouldn't cripple most organizations

This is fine

Big fan, especially given Timmy’s injury issues

Surprised he didn't get a shortstop gig somewhere. Loved him during his time on the South Side last year, but I really feel like "signing an aging vet to play out of position based on a six week hot streak after years of below replacement level play" is the exact kind of move Sox fans would normally drag Hahn for if Elvis wasn't so damn likeable.

I do hope Romy/Sosa still get a good amount of run though. Dreaming of a world where Romy gets Leury's UTIL job...

Also, having a 2B with SS caliber range is more important than ever

I like it don’t know why it took so long

That's a great thought that I haven't gotten used to yet.

The rest of the league seems unimpressed. Im just glad Leury is kept at arm’s length

Because he was looking for more money and a SS job.

You don't move Tim Anderson for someone who may only be here 2 months.

Agent was hoping there would be a desperate situation cropping up other than just Chicago to leverage

Sure, why not? I’ve said several times throughout this off-season that I would take Elvis late in the game for $3M, and here we are.
