Dang, I don't like this dude at all.

Why? He's awesome.  Shaw has made an of average 74 appearances from 2013-2021 (not counting shortened 2020 season).  That is absolutely insane.  I've always admired him from a distance purely for that.

Never forgive him for 2016

He gave up the winning runs to the Cubs in 2016 and he’s terrible and has been bad for a long time now.

Interesting because his FIP and xFIP were WAY below where his ERA fell last year.

It’s a minor league deal. I don’t give a f*** about the Cubs personally.

This is realy good.  Veteran who can pitch every other day

The Cubs run was a brief blip in their lengthy history of being bad, and winning it all removed their one noteworthy bit of notoriety.  Who fucking cares?  Why anyone would give a s%*# about what Bryan Shaw or any other FA signing did against them 7 years ago is silly.  It’s irrelevant to the here and now.  This is also just a NRI depth signing, and if he sucks, he is cut.  The Sox *should* be loading up on these to stack up as much depth as possible, not avoiding it.

This right here.  With as many holes as they have, they should be begging people to take these deals.

I guess you're right, but if the Sox sign Tito Landrum to a minor league deal I am done with them.

When they start signing 70 year old retirees I'll join the chorus with a sharpened pitchfork.

This.

Charlotte could still use a couple more SP arms, honestly.   Very little in the way of upper minors depth after Martin, Stiever, Alexy and Burke. Although Katz did give both Nate Fisher and Jesse Scholtens a shoutout in his interview the other day.

Wasn't against the Sox...refers to 2016 World Series against Cubs when with CLE.

Politically correct which means the usual flowery BS

I assume that meant the generic cookie cutter response where he says he's seen the Sox a lot from being on Cleveland and they have loads of talent and he's thrilled to be here etc etc...

I think he meant a cliche response instead of a PC one like, "This is a good team and I want to be a part of it."  Instead he just said I need a job and they offered me one.

Bryan Shaw = line drives a-go-go.

Whiskey A-Go-Go would be preferable.
