June 16, 20232 yr TL;DR The entire rotation, entire bullpen, and Tim Anderson would all be of interest to the Dodgers for various reasons.

June 16, 20232 yr TA might be a great "new surroundings" candidate. He still seems distracted and certainly seems to not like playing here. I don't know if he'd be batting champion again, but he's a better player than he looks like right now. He may thrive in LA.
June 16, 20232 yr I know it's not the be all end all so take it for what it's worth, but Baseball Trade Values website had TA in May '23 as a 46.0 trade value, today he is rated at 5.7. Edited June 16, 20232 yr by JoeCredeYes better words
June 16, 20232 yr I can't see TA being traded for much of anything. He can't hit, field or run anymore like he use to. If I was an opposing team needing a shortstop I would not want him. I can't see anybody wanting Moncada either.
June 16, 20232 yr Wonder what the Dodgers offered hahn for TA when Lux got hurt. Imagine if it was outman. ?
June 16, 20232 yr TA would prefer to play with Mookie but his game is slipping away. Have to get it done between the lines.
June 16, 20232 yr Author On the other hand, Anderson clearly comes with more upside, having hit .318/.347/.474 from 2019-22. Although the two-time All-Star missed 18 games early this season with a left knee sprain and has struggled to get going since then, he still boasts a 90th-percentile expected batting average, while making hard contact as often as ever. The main issue has been going from a ground ball hitter to the most extreme ground ball hitter in the sport. Even a modest adjustment -- perhaps with the Dodgers’ help -- could make Anderson a difference maker in the NL West race and into October. And with an affordable 2024 club option ($14 million), Anderson would also bolster L.A.’s depth next season, providing insurance in case Lux encounters any setbacks returning to full strength. The White Sox still have a shot in the weak AL Central, but if the team ends up selling, the Dodgers and their No. 2-ranked farm system would make for a nice match. https://www.mlb.com/news/ideal-mlb-trade-deadline-moves-2023 Edited June 16, 20232 yr by caulfield12
June 16, 20232 yr Saw on Twitter a post from the MLB Trade Rumor site that says Rosenthal today has a story out that the only players the Sox would consider trading are the guys who will become free agents at the end of the year. If they are a "non-rental" player the Sox are leaning towards keeping them. Edited June 16, 20232 yr by Lip Man 1

Trading Giolito Grandal Lynn and Middleton...no idea what happens with Clevinger, the injury might prevent a deal...what would they expect to possibly change in the next offseason in order to actually improve? It's like they can't let go, and just pull the scab off and reboot things. That's somehow more depressing than just about any other option that's available.

They can't let go because it would be an admission of a rebuild failure and their ego's won't allow that.

If they are a "non-rental" player the Sox are leaning towards keeping them. Of course that makes sense in the Sox dysfunctional front office world. Our worthless GM has no clue how to analyze the trade value of our players. Hahn thinks illogically, the best move is trading only UFA's which are Grandal, Middleton, Giolito, Andrus and Lopez. Only Gio will bring back something of decent quality, as the others will bring back very little, except Andrus of course, who will bring back nothing. If we only trade the rental players, then don't expect the 26th ranked farm system to be improved anytime soon.
June 17, 20232 yr I'd float Gio and TA to Dodgers for Lux and one of the young arms in AAA. Lux and Montgomery would make a nice double play combo for years to come.

June 17, 20232 yr Tim's value has to be trash right now. I'm not sure what we could even get for him. Tim + Giolito seems like an obvious move. Edited June 17, 20232 yr by ron883
