How the f*** did we blow a 6 run lead tonight and somehow use 7 pitchers, none of whom were deadline additions. Honestly, it speaks volume to how bad of a job Getz did at the deadline. Chris should be charged with negligence for failing us so epically these last two months.Sadly, this year probably made Jerry love him even more. I expect very little in terms of offseason moves. I can’t see any offensive starters being added. Probably a few relievers, that’s it.

11 hours ago11 hr Isn't it true they haven't developed a single reliever internally...that was actually a signed White Sox draft pick?Other than Pallette for the Guardians? That the only correct answer now is Hagen Smith...a 1-5 draft pick, kind of speaks volumes about getting your relievers from lower in the draft/s.

Chris Getz might win executive of the year. These posts are both fucking insane. I expect this nonsense from the 20 somethings on twitter who would've evaporated into dust during the 2005 collapse but not from veteran posters. This team being .500 this year is a damn miracle.

The guy literally had one of the worst trade deadlines of all time. He would have been better off not even making a single trade and the team would be better right now. Not sure how this can just be ignored. Saying people deserve to be fired over this is insane though. I never said anything about not being able to critique them. Which tweet? I don't generally delete tweets. I've never been one to hide from my bad takes on publicly available forums.

As you can see, your tweet has since disappeared from Ron’s post and the very next post by ChiSox59 that quoted Ron’s initial post of your tweet. ChiSox59 even references your name and what you said in the tweet. Your tweet was about how Sox fans were basically stupid to question the deadline trades because they had likely never even seen Mason Adams or Boston Smith play in the minors, so apparently they weren’t qualified to critique the trades. 1 hour ago1 hr Accepting the Sox collapse as tolerable, just because we came into the season with low expectations, is faulty thinking. Situations change and expectations change. The fact of the matter is, we had a lead in the division at the trade deadline, in a winnable division and made no moves to help us out, despite warnings from everywhere that we needed dependable pitching depth in both the rotation and pen. The starters who got us thru the first half were already at their historic innings limits. We are now experiencing exactly what was warned about. The reasoning was very similar to what we heard from the last regime during the last rebuild….dont mortgage the future, for today, in the hopes of a prolonged run of success. Well, opportunities for this franchise do not come often and nothing is guaranteed. Show me the sustained success from the last rebuild. I’m not saying to go all in, as I don’t think we were built to win a championship this year, but we should have made a better effort to at least address the concerns on this team and improve our chances to win the division and get this young team some playoff experience. Now it looks like the experience they walk away with is a complete collapse and depressing off-season.

I also was hoping for another good starter and said they were short at the time. In hindsight, I totally understand why it didn't happen because they weren't interested in trading prospects for rentals.

I'm as guilty of this as anyone.I'm just hoping for a winning season and given the Sox have only had five of those since the start of 2007, you can see why.My point is though that in places like New York, Philly, Boston the fan base would be (almost literally) rioting in the streets. Here though some folks who have shown to be responsible for good, solid information and have access that others don't have, appear to be making excuses, blaming fans who are upset (having Rick Hahn flashbacks) and passing what has happened off as 'one of those things.'Again I use the saying that "the Sox make the post season as often as a Republican wins the mayorship of Chicago." You can understand why the fan base got invested and excited with a team that had a real shot only to see the front office decide for whatever reason it wasn't going to happen. The thing is it still may, we can only hope, but even if it does, they will have had to fight for their lives the last few weeks and will probably be completely spent if they have to play Cleveland or Houston on the road. short of a miracle.

And that’s why a collapse in 2026 hurts a little extra for me. The opportunity to experience a lifetime goal of mine and go to a playoff game with my dad was right there. All the White Sox needed to do was continue playing .500 baseball like they’ve done for most of the season, and they’d have a shot. Instead, they’ve faltered when it mattered most. The White Sox will leave Cleveland in second place, but there’s still time to right the ship. With ten games to play and a favorable schedule, they control their own destiny, but things are moving quickly in the wrong direction. Some of you may call me dramatic, or tell me I’m “not built for 162” or whatever other silly mantra you’ve developed to convince yourself that losing as much as the White Sox have in recent years is normal, and that’s okay. For you, it may be just baseball. But for me, it’s more. In two weeks, I hope to be on a flight to Chicago and preparing to head to Rate Field to watch a playoff game with the man who taught me how to know and love this beautiful, weird, stupid game. It’s an opportunity that I never expected to have in 2026, but one that would be devastating to lose. I can only hope and pray that I’ll get that opportunity again. Thanks to the White Sox, for me this year, there most certainly is crying in baseball."https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/baseball/why-white-sox-series-ending-collapse-vs-guardians-left-me-feeling-reflective-and-lost/ar-AA2cn1Af?ocid=BingNewsSerpWilliam Hale Thompson Jr. (May 14, 1869 – March 19, 1944) was an American politician who served as mayor of Chicago from 1915 to 1923 and again from 1927 to 1931. Known as "Big Bill",[1] he is the most recent Republican to have served as mayor of Chicago. Historians rank him among the most unethical mayors in American history, mainly for his open alliance with Al Capone. Made no sense at the time and it might cost us a playoff spot. Doing nothing would have been better than adding him. I have been a staunch Getz defender all season, but last night was my breaking point. Watching a team in desperate need of SP wither & die after an early 8-2 lead while Castillo was nowhere to be found was the nail in the coffin. There is no question he failed this team at the deadline and has weakened them going into 2027. I’m glad he held onto Bonemer and didn’t go “all in”, but I can’t otherwise comprehend his set of moves. Thinking you can fix broken players mid season while in the middle of a playoff push reeks of arrogance or stupidity. Just too hard for me to ignore how mind boggling the Castillo & Doyle moves were.

I didn’t think he would get two because he didn’t want to pay the cost. But that’s what makes the Doyle trade look even dumber. Not only did he trade away prospects for a position of not much need (CF), he traded away a starter option and didn’t get a starting pitcher back.

1 hour ago1 hr Getz gets a solid B for the first half based on the constraints hehe had. But a F for trade deadline and beyond. Venable gets a C so far. Makes the playoffs is an A or B. Misses and it's a D
1 hour ago1 hr Doyle hasn't even been a complete disaster...he's rounding into at least a useful player with around a .650 ops, great defense arm speed and XB power.Or basically, everything Acuna was supposed to have been...It's that Castillo move that really sticks in the craw.Worst of all, to be stuck with him again on the team next year seems almost cruel fate at this point...you just know they'll put him in the rotation again in an attempt to extract some value, and it will just about kill their April/May record.
1 hour ago1 hr Just looking at the game logs for Castillo here, it’s crazy how much stress he’s put on the relievers. Already saw two games where Hagen and Taylor had to pitch almost 4 combined innings in a game.
