I think the format with 3 division winners and 1 wild card was the best we would ever see. Too many teams in the playoffs dilute the importance of the season to me. But more teams means more money, an

How did I know Madrigal was having an awful season?  No one on Soxtalk was talking about him.

Cubs get walked off and lose Steele to injury on the same night. Hopefully nothing serious for Steele.

Morel just had another misplay at 3B.  My kinda off the wall but not really prediction is the Sox trade Moncada to the Cubs.

Weird that both the White Sox and Cubs are at home, and at a time when it still feels like winter. ?‍♂️

I think Christopher Morel just hurt his knee on a slide into second.

What's up with the Cubs offense? Lot of batting averages dipping to the .250 range. U think their manager is in jeopardy if this continues?

The White Sox are more likely to make the playoffs than Counsell is to get fired. He signed a $40M contract as a manager and left a divisional rival that loved him.

They're still the second WC team....Milwaukee's also going to have a heckuva time holding together through the 2nd half (without significant additions).

OFC, can say the same about Imanaga results not being sustainable.   Cubs also have a major bullpen/closing issue brewing.

27-25 record and 3.5 out of first. It just shows you (tank lovers) that it doesn't take much to be a contender for playoffs. All the Sox have to do is flirt with .500 and get hot one month. But instead they mess around with this tanking crap for 10 years and are the dregs of the entire league. I wish the Sox would get some common sense. We need a do-over starting with the Sale trade year. Sox have the worst team in baseball by far and no plan. Nice.

Interestingly, this generation of rebuilds (post Houston/Cubs/KC) has by and large been a pretty massive failure.

The Blue Jays, White Sox and Padres.   None of them made the World Series...with SD coming the closest in 2022 and the Blue Jays having three playoff appearances but almost nothing to show for it.

The Mets are kind of the poster child now for spending big money but not completely rebuilding from scratch.  We'll see how well that works out for them.   Unlike the White Sox, who have had singular contracts like Danks and now Benintendi sink the franchise, they have the ability/willingness to spend over mistakes.

They gotta DFA him or just send him down

Why even have replay if that call at second isn’t overturned?  Adames was definitely safe

Outproduced by Chicago's own version of Nicky Two Strikes.

The number of bs calls the Cubs have received with replay is crazy

"elite speed"  "elite baserunning"

Cubbies r 2 games under now

Cubs optioned INF Nick Madrigal to Triple-A Iowa.

Madrigal, 27, will head back to Triple-A with David Bote taking his place on the roster. The former top prospect has once again not been effective at the plate with a .221/.280/.256 slash line in 94 plate appearances thus far.“

The score has decided that the cubs are gonna get Vlad Jr.  so this should go well

And I am sure Cub fans believe it, just like always.  He should look great next to Bryce Harper and Carlos Correa
