The constant negative take on every prospect from the same person/people is getting old AF. plenty of legit reasons to hate this organization, we don’t need to put a negative spin on every. single. pr

The thing I like most about him is he's different and you don't see a lot of different in today's game.  He's an out getter.  His other pitches play up off that outstanding changeup. He left one ball

  • Well, according to Harold, pitchers love Maldonado.  I only care about Crochet and Fedde, here's who caught them. Crochet: Lee - 8, Maldonado - 7 (including his 3 worst starts of the seas

Hmmm, thought they were keeping that Barons group together? Interesting.

This might be the beginning of them keeping that group together. In Chicago.

At least until they send him down in a week.

Not quite sure why they called up Cannon when they needed a reliever and then a starter, but he always Getz his man... and then dfas him.

Good to here. Ramos and Sean Burke should follow after the All star break if they keep playing well.

They seem to need 2 starters, now. Thorpe starts Tuesday, Cannon throws Wednesday, and then Crochet on Thursday. They just rostered a lefty in Peralta, so maybe Hill gets his walking papers Tuesday morning.

Cannon did a great job in the pen yesterday; why not just leave him there and let him learn for the rest of the season or for a month?  Lord knows he's better than the hacks that the Sox have in the pen.  The pen is a good way to ease into the league; he can start next season.

Agreed, I think Cannon needs to stay in the 'pen for the rest of 2024. Let Thorpe come up, hopefully not be awful, and actually if they are going youth movement, cut one of the has-beens from the bullpen, and let Nastrini work out of it for now as well.

uh oh, don't the White Sox know he needs to throw a perfect game at BHam before he's ready? Then pitch another 300 innings against 35-year-old washouts in Charlotte? Poor Drew Thorpe, his career is over before it got a chance to begin.

Interested to see if the changeup plays at all against MLB hitters.

Will imagine the opposing gameplans will be to sit fastball and only swing at that.

The reason he has been so good is you can't recognize which one it is until the bottom falls out of the change.

Lol. Good luck with that. The reason change ups is work is they look like fast balls.

Yeah that’s a terrible game plan.

Real life baseball isn't that easy.  It's like saying he should only swing at strikes

Congrats to him ....well deserved.

BTW Aly...FG has his changeup at 70/70, so I would expect it to work on MLB hitters. Whether his other stuff works remains to be seen.

His template for success is Giolito with the Sox in 2023

Keith Foulke did pretty well as a two-pitch pitcher with a big time change up

88mph fastball wtf lol

He was a reliever and it was the early 2000s. 92 mph is meat nowadays when everyone is used to 95+ on a regular basis.

Kyle Hendricks is a solid modern example. Great career.

Hell, Tom Glavine had 305 wins and 80 WAR with a predominantly 2 pitch mix.
