February 4Feb 4 Dieng and Sexton are expiring. I'll have to see how good the 3 2nds are. I guess in aggregate, maybe they're like a 1st round pick?
February 4Feb 4 Unless there is a move where they can flip Sexton and Simons somewhere for a productive player or 1st round picks, this is literally just reshuffling the cards they already had.

February 4Feb 4 Author Can't install a bidet in the Bulls front office because it would wash away the employees

They are getting an interesting RFA (who was a pretty young lotto pick and maybe has some longer term upside) plus the 2nd rounders. For years AKME ruined this thing - but right now - I'm quite pleased with what I'm seeing. No one is looking for roster fit - but they are finding ways to ensure they retain more assets and flexibility, whether swapping UFAs for RFA's or buying picks (and ultimately turning that into a pretty solid upside flyer in Ivey). Bottom line - this isn't a good team by any stretch and roster construction (in terms of on court match) isn't what they seem to be going with. But they have TONS of flexibility at this point and without a big, they seem to be in a path to tank. The other piece is - Charlotte is right behind the Bulls - so this helps the tank. I caveat - Bulls could always leverage that flexibility and swing for a star or two. I have zero faith in this front office - but the pure isolation of what is happening the past few days, is refreshing and seems to actually make sense. Unfortunately it is following a 7 year run (or however long it was) of being absolute garbage.

February 4Feb 4 I’m actually blown away at just how bad AKME are being NBA front office executives. Like the basic principle for any front office is to buy low and sell high and we continually wait to deal players when there value is at an all time low. And all for the hope of a play-in game appearance.
February 4Feb 4 I wouldnt hate a push for Ja. A lot of risk, but this team has no other hope. Don't you pay Billy to be this culture setter.

February 5Feb 5 Me and my 5 posts here has long been known as overly optimistic, but even I kinda struggle to see the vision here. (For the new posters, I've been on this board for probably close to 20 years) They've set themselves up to be real players in free agency buttttt, free agency next year is super mid....Unless they get lucky and overpay an RFA like Jalen Duren or I guess Walker Kessler. They're gonna need Matas to grow and show more consistency and Ivey to get back to the path he was on pre injury as well. Ayo-Simmons-Giddey-Matas-Duren/Kessler is ummm....interesting? That said, hopefully there's one last big trade left to make today.

Which is so AKME/Reinsdorf, to not MAKE your own luck through hard work but to just hope everything goes absolutely perfect
