This isn’t your honest opinion.  This is you getting in your feels, just like you did for the entirety of last season, and telling everyone that the s%*# team on the field was better than we said.   I criticize Greg a lot for coming into discussions and not providing depth to his points but he actually did here(and was RIGHT LMAO) and you couldn’t take it.  It was a prediction and you acted like he kicked your dog lol

Seriously.  Just take the L and move on.

SkyWayMacDonalds said we are signing Jose Abreu for veteran leadership.

Oh wait, that isn't better.

Crazy. I gave my honest opinion and was criticized for it. One man's ceiling is another man's floor.

Because...you were wrong.

On top of it, you also criticized greg for HIS honest opinions, listing out each bullpen pitcher and why they don't "blow"

(Spoiler alert, they did, in fact, blow)

This is coming from the same person who will move the goal posts when anyone calls you out and say "Resorting to personal attacks just lessens your argument" then two posts later will call someone an idiot.

Look in the mirror, take the L and stop arguing with anyone who has a negative opinion on the team. Given the Sox track record, they're probably right.

Again, weird that he missed the main reasons why this team took a dive. It's also strange that you guys consider this any meaner or more emotional than most of everything I got in spring training for not getting in the whiner hot tub.

“Whiner hot tub” 🤝 the reality of the team

take your pick.  You have been wrong all season might as well stay wrong

also, everyone doesn’t have to list everything in a post.  You creating this strawman of “yea well Greg didn’t describe every part in detail” is sad

In Robert's 4 full seasons in the MLB, 2024 was the year he played the second most games (100 even), so a relatively healthy year for him. That's on you if you thought he would be a huge factor all season long.

I will say this again, if not for Eloy and Yoan, people would get on him more about his health and injury history. He's lucky they were here to shield him. I won't miss him if/when they trade him.

Oh, okay. I will eat the meaningless crow that nobody else seems to over an opinion. Let me know which string everybody lines up to take their L's for declaring that Crochet wouldn't make it through the season, or that it was ridiculous to consider Fedde's work in Korea in being positive about him.

But most people liked the Fedde deal and Crochet very much began to run out of steam.

Thanks White Sox 2023. I feel so many times nobody credits me for credible posts and I was right there on that one. That's why I didn't buy mlb.com. Amazing how people won't give credit and you did. Thank u! The post you cited should put as the first member of the Soxtalk.com Posters Hall of Fame!

Go Bro Rice in the Prep Bowl playoffs if indeed they are in them.

You don’t want to be on The Hall of Fame List.

Most people liked the Fedde deal?

I think he means signing Fedde as the “deal”, not the trading away of Fedde

I definitely didn’t like it.  Fedde was terrible in the majors with the Nationals and I thought he would suck here.  Definitely Getz’s best acquisition to date, which he then blew by dealing him with Kopech for Vargas as a headliner.  😔

This honestly makes it worse because the "list" of reasons why greg would be wrong, was 150% wrong.

I was way off on crochet. Still didn't like what they did during the season.

However, I've had a chance to talk to some people about what they did last off season with him. They convinced me that what they did was right. They had the advantage of having a full off season to get him ready for being a starter. They didn't need to worry about recovery from the previous season as he was out rehabbing from surgery. They new plan they came up with was unique to these circumstances.  I really think they came up with a great plan for it.

Now we just need to see how it works going into this next season. I'm far more optimistic now then during the season based on talking with the people involved.

Well the best indication of the ability to do something is the history of having already done it, so after definitely being wrong on Crochet's stamina last year, I wouldn't be surprised to see him at 150 IP this year.  I still fear for injury, but less than before.

If I am to understand @ptatc's post, is it fair to say that your concern now is Crochet's not having gone through an offseason recovery after a 150-inning season, and therefore there may be a further risk of injury for 2025?
Or am I misreading / misinterpreting?

More of a generalized fear of his injury history returning to haunt us, versus his inning ramp up.

His strikeouts stayed high but his hits (and HR), walks, and ERA all did jump up in the second half.  Is that all due to BAbip?
