  • Astros losing both Bregman and Tucker would make me so happy.

  • Luis Robert put up a 5.0 WAR in 2023. Last year he was hurt again, and the team beyond dreadful. People act like he's never been good.

Hopefully he won’t sign an extension, but I actually think he will.  Bellinger to Yankees is next.  Cubs are a real threat to get Roki according to a person with info.

I’m not sure anyone has great intel on Roki’s thoughts yet except him or his agent.

And Cubs better extend Tucker because that is a steep price

Does this give us any more insight on a potential Robert return?

They do such an amazing job drafting, I don’t think losing Smith is a big deal.

Paredes is a 3+ win player with three years of control…if they lose Tucker to free agency that alone will hurt.  The prospects can probably be replaced to your point though.

Paredes was a horrible fit at Wrigley. I think they just wanted to trade Morel while he had value.

I don’t think so.  Robert is not a Soto / Tucker caliber hitter and is fundamentally lesser trade asset due to injuries and underperformance last year.

Paredes dreams of the Crawford Box.

Why is he a horrible fit for Wrigley?

Im shocked they’re not getting more

He's a better fit in Houston as a RHH pull hitter and the short LF.

I'd say a team's #1 draft pick from this past year and a 3B for the next 3 years for a rental is pretty good.

Edit: plus another prospect or SP they can plug into their rotation (with some control) right away

Edit 2: God damn, guy put a 4.7 WAR season only playing 78 games.

Wouldn’t shock me at all if they sign Tanner Scott now and go after Alonso.  Jed knows he’s gone if they don’t win the division.

The OF is still crowded so they will probably dump Bellinger as well to Yankees still.

He's going to absolutely mash with those crawford boxes.

Long route and 6 prospects later for the Cubs to get Tucker. If they don’t extend him it will look pretty ugly down the line

Tadahito Iguchi is hopefully selling him on how cool black pinstripes are.

One White Sox angle - its darn smart that Getz got the Crochet deal done when he did, as Framber Valdez is clearly on the trade block from Houston now and, although he's more expensive in dollars, he has a postseason pedigree that Crochet doesn't have.

Cubs might be selling high on Cam Smith? Or maybe they project Shaw as a 3b? Cuz this is a lot to give up for 1 year of Tucker. For their sake, I hope he extends but they have a lot of depth in R/R guys who can play 2b/3b.

great deal. So much of the mlb is more fun, hope sox join the party.
