Featured Replies

Anyone have any more info on this young man?

It was reported he was going to sign last year with us right?

Yeah.

Looks like he is an 18 YO Cuban 3b and ranked #33 in MLBs top 50 international prospects.

Same old tricks. I think I’d rather have twenty 17 YO Dominicans for the money

At least he’s a legit prospect and not some Yolbert Sanchez type.  Will be nice once we start seeing an inflow of kids from the Dominican though.

Like the guy we signed last year?  Can't remember his name. Third baseman from Venezuela.

I don’t know much about this kid TBH…I was more just saying he is a real prospect due to his age and ranking within the class.

He has a nice write up.

Yolbert might be the best player we ever got out of the DSL that we signed.

I’m not following here.

We signed him when he was very young, he started his career in DSL, he made it to the White Sox, he stayed in MLB for several years.....

he's probably the best player Sox ever signed who came up that way.

Oh you’re talking about Yolmer.  Did Ordonez or Lee come up that way?

I’m assuming since it is White Sox money that they would play baseball

“WS to Sign Cuban Teenager“

Jerry has him cleaning all of the bathrooms at Rate Field for under minimum wage.

Fun, or sad, fact. The White Sox have had the #1 international prospect in a signing class join the organization, MULTIPLE TIMES.

MLB Pipeline rankings go back to 2012...

2013: Eloy Jimenez (Adolfo #2, Gleyber #3, Devers #6)

2016: Luis Robert

2019: Yoelqui Cespedes (Jasson Dominguez #2, Norge Vera #5)

2020/2021: Yoelqui Cespedes

In 2022 we didn't have the #1 guy, but we have the #4 guy (William Bergola) and the #5 Oscar Colas.

Another can't miss Cuban....

I think you're talking about Yolmer Sanchez, and he's Venezuelan. Yolbert Sanchez was Cuban. We got him away from a commitment to Baltimore. Yolbert was older, and more "polished".

EDIT: nevermind.
