February 11, 20251 yr Ky Bush is having Tommy John surgery Wednesday per Chris Getz.— Scott Merkin (@scottmerkin) February 11, 2025
February 11, 20251 yr All you can do is laugh. The good news is that at least it won't matter this season since they are going to be a disaster anyway.
February 11, 20251 yr Why the f*** do they always wait until Spring training to do this? He was injured in September? Why must they constantly turn 1 lost season into 2.

I would imagine that for every TJS at the beginning of spring training, there's a couple guys who just rested for a month or so over the winter and healed up.
February 11, 20251 yr Thorpe has no structural damage currently. Tommy John right now would be a very surprising outcome.

It's been missed by more than the White Sox. Lorenzo Barcelo was supposed to be the prize of the White Flag trade. But he was always too hurt. They could never find anything. KW literally called him a p****. Turns out he needed elbow and shoulder surgery.
February 11, 20251 yr Man, he was one of the guys that would have been somewhat fun to watch. Hope he recovers 100%.

I'll always remember Crochet getting soreness his rookie year, making Trout and Ohtani look silly in Spring Training, and then he was out for the year the next day.
February 11, 20251 yr Author Drew Thorpe is feeling good, per Getz: "Playing catch right now. He'll be on a mound here shortly. We do expect him to be a little behind some of these other starters, but with that being said, we feel like he's going to be active throughout Spring Training." — Scott Merkin (@scottmerkin) February 11, 2025

February 11, 20251 yr I feel bad for Bush as he is a young father and this year was a great opportunity for him. A year from now, he may be staring up at Schultz and Smith in the rotation and earning a shot would be that much harder. At least it explains why a guy who looked so good in AA could look how he did in the majors. Best of luck to him and his family.

February 11, 20251 yr If they just don't let anyone run to first base, we can cut our injuries by half.

February 11, 20251 yr that sucks. thought he had a chance at making the starting 5. good to have depth I guess, maybe he comes back with higher velo....that happens sometimes, right?

Always do a couple of months of rest and rehab first I know the majority of people on here just want to cut and push the athletes like pieces of meat but they are people. You avoid surgery at all costs, first.
