We have gone from Hahn saying things that actually meant nothing, to Getz saying things that don't quite add up in reality.

Hahn read the room too much, Getz doesn't read the room at all.

Well at least he hasn't been talking about how easy the AL Central is to beat.

Yeah.... you got that out of his system last year. Now he's busy talking about how great the division is and all they need to emulate their plan.

He certainly had some time to study the Royals, which is basically a case of being in the right place at the right time to draft Witt, Jr., and spending more than anyone in the division last off season on Wacha/Lugo as well as making the Ragans/A.Chapman trade.  Oh, and having veteran leadership from Salvy Perez (and an outlier of a 2024 season statistically).

Lesson over.

"It kind of reminds me a little bit of when I was coming up with Atlanta. We’ll got into spring with 10-12 capable starters fighting for five spots. It’s bringing back that healthy competition. It’s not only going to make me better but it’s going to make everybody better if you just embrace it.”  Bryse Wilson

As long as you’re happy holding him to the deadline.

Did they hang up on Getz immediately or just curtly reply "no way!"?

I think it's scary but I'd rather do that then trade him for pennies

I never thought Cincinnati talks for that serious. As soon as names start to leak, talks are dead.

I’ll still bet that he’s nontendered at the end of 25.

Vargas put on 20 pounds. Still holding out hope he can show something this year.

That’s great to hear.  He sure looked skinny for a guy with his type of minor league numbers.  At least he realized how bad he was last season and got bulked up to hopefully hit some bombs this year.

Eh, we know they are going to suck but there are some interesting young players to watch for their own individual performances.

All he has to have is a decent first half.  Like .775 OPS.  I don’t think that’s crazy.  But I assume you are thinking he will get injured.  That’s the true horrifying risk.

I can't wait until he hits an opening day HR, and we get all of the I TOLD YOU SO posts, only for him to Tuffy Rhodes it.

Exactly. Given what we know about him, I'm guessing he struggles for a portion of the year and plays like 100 games or less. I just don't see the White Sox spending $20 million on him next offseason if he puts up 2 WAR.

I agree. Hopefully it's by another team.
