Luis Reyes has pitched very well in June so far: 19IP, 1ER, 4BB, 12K across 3 starts. The one run was a solo shot.

Yeah he’s been impressive. First looking at him he screamed reiliever with his arm action, but he’s been holding his stuff late into starts. Good stuff.

There were rumors Gonzalez was going 1-1

Cause he's a proven winner, right?

Checked out some of the stats for last year’s first rounders.  Man, Konnor Griffin is putting up future top prospect in the game-esque stats

Very impressive. It’ll be interesting to see if he fades a little at A+ like Braden did. Only 11 games there so far, but he’s mashing.

Full episode is worth a listen for some more pitching development insights

Good stuff as usual, AD. Very pleased with the proactive approach.

Sorrow for Schultz

The Sox’ top prospect, lefty pitcher Noah Schultz, fared poorly in his latest start for Triple-A Charlotte, surrendering five runs, five hits and four walks in just two innings Friday.

67 hits and 41 walks in 64 innings.  Hopefully, the Sox can get him straightened out.

Again, he has to learn how to go 100 pitches.  This is the downside of him only going to 50/60 pitches his first two years in the system.  It is much easier to pitch when you can always go all out.  It is much tougher to go 100/110 pitches and deep into games trying to make your stuff last.  Dude is 4/5 starts away from his career high in IP and we are about half way through the season.

MLB numbers obviously, but he's still a prospect so thought it fit here

Both Colson and McDougal on the hot sheet for BA.

1. Colson Montgomery, SS, White Sox
Team: Triple-A Charlotte (International)
Age: 23
Why He’s Here: .500/.522/1.227 (11-for-22), 9 R, 2 2B, 1 3B, 4 HR, 8 RBIs, 1 BB, 5 SO, 0-for-0 SB
The Scoop: It’s been a difficult two seasons for Montgomery with Triple-A Charlotte, as he’s hit .214/.318/.391 across 182 games. This past week, things made a turn for the better. Montgomery strung together four consecutive multi-hit games to end the week, going 11-for-19 over that stretch, including a two-home run game on Thursday. Montgomery was once considered among the premium position prospects in the game, but the last two seasons have reset expectations. (GP)

6. Tanner McDougal, RHP, White Sox
Team:  Double-A Birmingham (Southern)
Age: 22
Why He’s Here: 1-1, 0.90, 10 IP, 8 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 4 BB, 13 SO, 1 HR
The Scoop: After a pair of inconsistent seasons to begin his professional career, McDougal, a 2021 fifth-round pick, has found improved command in 2025. It’s made a big difference, as McDougal pitched his way to Double-A and has been very strong over three starts since. This week, McDougal made two starts against Knoxville, throwing five innings of one-run ball on Tuesday followed by five scoreless on Sunday. His fastball sits mid-to-high 90s, and he also blends in a two-plane curveball with lots of depth, a cutter and a changeup. McDougal’s step forward in 2025 could put him onto the prospect radar in the coming months should he continue to perform. (GP)

Rodriguez threw another 4 IP scoreless (and hitless) today, so that's up to 18.2IP, 17K, and .069 average against.

Konnor Griffin climbs all the way to #2, and I cry on the inside. Hagen slips to 78, but Caleb Bonemer is 71. Schultz (24), Teel (35), Braden (53) are the other White Sox on the list.

The Pirates have really been quite productive the last 10-15 years in producing solid prospects...but have unfortunately ended up trading 75% of them away in the end, especially young pitching when you think of guys like Glasnow Musgrove and Taillon.

Not sure why, but I get Trout vibes with Konnor Griffin.  Concerns about both due to where they’re from, and they just look unstoppable in the minors.

Gerrit Cole.

BA's podcast today was just gushing over him being a legit 5 tool guy, sure would've been nice to have him in the system...
