I have two corrections for you, against which I will not hear any arguments.

1) While Goldeneye is awesome, it as at best #2 behind Ocarina of Time.

2) Pierce Brosnan is the best Bond.

I've not watched one Bond movie. I this week did watch Young Frankenstein though and loved it. My gawd what subtle humor.

Pierce Brosnan was not even the best Pierce I have ever seen.

Ocarina of Time remains the GOAT to this day, but Goldeneye multiplayer at the time was impossible to top.

  • Quin changed the title to Korey Lee not traded | GOAT James Bond: ?

Everyone is having fun with James Bond Convo, so this thread shall live.

Also gonna cop out and say that Pierce Brosnan was my favorite "classic" type of Bond, but I like Craig more overall.

That being said, my wife has never seen any Bond films and wants to see them all, so I'll give complete rankings after that.

You mean what knockers!

That was so funny. I died laughing. I love when she said in the accent, 'tank you.' And when Marty Feldman was asked about the 'bags' I passed out.

As someone who's watched every single Bond movie at least once...even On Her Majesty's Service (George Lazenby, 1969).

1) Sean Connery (if you don't just the sexist jokes based upon today's standards

2) Daniel Craig

3) Roger Moore

4) Timothy Dalton

5) Pierce Brosnan

6) George Lazenby (underrated film overall, but not exactly well-acted, pretty wooden performance)

Craig’s Bond is more like Jason Bourne.

If you haven’t seen Blazing Saddles, it will blow your fucking mind if you thought Young Frankenstein was great (and it was).

I will be the guy who states I have never watched a full Bond movie.  The genre and the knock offs ever did anything for me.

To be completely honest, I haven’t seen anywhere near all the Bond movies. I grew up in the Brosnan era though, so he will forever top the rest for me.

For what it's worth, one of the biggest criticisms of Bond (the Craig years) has been that it kind of became a knock-off of the grittier Jason Bourne style...mixed with the pyrotechnics/CGI/stunt-driven Mission Impossible series.

I think that's certainly a valid point.

And maybe the fact that film-making for a spy series in which the Soviet Union isn't the same "menacing" threat it was during the Connery years and the difficulty/political aspects of making China the enemy (or generic terrorists/Middle Eastern "goons" without an identified country) has taken some of the fun and cheekiness out of the films.

I'm glad they didn't go all the way to casting a female Bond...or the critics would have had a field day with it.  That said, the double entendres and sexual innuendoes of all the Connery films from the 1960's are highly unlikely to return...for good reason, even for a "male driven" audience that's still roughly 35-40% females in the last 15-20 years or so.
