I mean even when we were trying to compete we had half a rotation and a middling bullpen. I think it's just opportunity cost mostly. Actual teams aren't trying these guys out because of the real downside risk. We don't mind that risk of course and can benefit from positive percentile outcomes. Well said, I think most of the offensive contributors are gonna have to come from next few drafts

Only if you are into losing 2-0, 3-1.   Too many holes and then trading those pitchers to fill them.  In that case it would be nice to get a young player who wont be exposed to the Sox farm system.

Yeah I used to think that but I don’t trust their scouting at all of minor leaguers
