Pretty amazing that a player can make that kind of an impact on a new manager from a totally different organization in just 2-3 weeks being around each other...well, and spring training also.

Hard not to cheer for guys like him and Shane Smith that were counted out or undervalued or taken for granted by previous organizations.

(Greg Jones...we hardly knew ye.)

At least the airlines will make a lot of money off the Charlotte Shuttle this year.

When you make mental errors that are not officially assessed by the score keeper as official errors...giving up outs and allowing extrallowing on throws,  eliminating double play possibilities, it's not tracked statistically but it helps to harm the confidence of the pitching staff.

We saw this the last two years and are witnessing the same yet again.

Already back down to 21st in DRS and falling by the day.

I so want to belong to the cool squad, so please clear this up for me. Guys like Oscar Colas should be playing on the big league team to "see what we have", but Brooks Baldwin shouldn't be learning how to play LF and RF in the bigs because it's demoralizing for the pitchers when he makes a mental miscue, but somehow, miscues by guys like Oscar Colas or somebody like Al Canario make pitchers feel better?

Yeah, this is the same organization that thought Andrew Vaughn could handle RF defensively, so I am going to need to actually see it happen first.

Well they didn't just think it, they put him out there! Which is probably most relevant for the current discussion, lol

Look at how many games Baldwin has played in AAA compared to Colas Fletcher DeLoach and Canario...

If he doesn't pan out we know who to blame. Just laying the ground work.

If he doesn't pan out, he was just a bad pick in hindsight.  He was a fourth rounder so he was obviously drafted fairly high, and he wasn't with the Sox long enough this year to have his hitting be besmirched by our minor league "development" staff.
