Luis Robert trade thread: La Pantera stays.

I would much rather have Luis than Vientos, so consider me one of the happy gang if Luis is still here and not just given away.

Although I would have enjoyed watching Luis get on a heater somewhere else and carry a team further than they deserved to go -- since I watch other teams play much more than the Sox these days.

Anyone who thinks Tony LaRussa brought anything positive to this organization this time around is truly derranged.

  • I may be in the minority but I have no issue with them keeping Luis. They have nothing committed to payroll next year and no one knocking at the door to be an every day CFer. Also, I would consider ke

  • Oh no. Chris Getz maybe asked for a desirable target in trade negotiations. It's truly unfortunate dialogue ends completely after one player is inquired about.

Wanted to watch Luis mess up the Cubs and their LHP in the postseason

I'm fine with Luis staying if the Bader trade is an indication of value.

Houser has to go though.

Would it shock you if they extended Houser?

Yes (this isn't a comment on whether it would be right or wrong, which I haven't really thought about)

would be weird for Houser to negotiate an extension now and not get other teams involved in FA

If they don't trade Robert, keep Tauchman, and then extend Houser, im going to have to seriously question how much longer I can follow this dumpster fire.

Pretty sure they didn’t scratch him from his start yesterday because they intend to extend him.  They want to trade him.  Regardless, I can’t imagine Houser wouldn’t just wait for free agency rather than accept what would likely be a team friendly extension offer from the Sox.

This is not looking good, no apparent trades going to happen

There will be an insane amount of trades next three hours

Given the relief prices out there, I'd be most disappointed to hear the Sox didn't entertain talks on Taylor (especially if they have him as a Pen arm, which it seems like to me they do).

Yes, its tough but just need to be patient. I just can't believe they don't move anyone else, there's no way.

Houser market has been surprisingly super quiet. Robert seems like he may stay put. I think a team should look to package Houser and Sosa who could be a nice bench bat for a contender.

Same, they should absolutely make calls to at least put feelers out there for him.

100%. I hope there's been talks of him and Luis together with the Mets. But who knows.

Why would the Mets need him though?

They don't right now.

One that would have made more sense is Houser and Taylor to Jays or Cubs

I bet they pivoted to Mullins cause Getz was dicking around with stupid demands.

Jays system really sucks.

IDK if they need him, but kid has a 1.47 FIP. He's had some bad luck, but he's been as dominant as it comes.

Seen more online other GMs are trying to take advantage of Getz cause he's new and doesn't have experience. Lowball offers to him for players
