Anyone who thinks Tony LaRussa brought anything positive to this organization this time around is truly derranged.

  • I may be in the minority but I have no issue with them keeping Luis. They have nothing committed to payroll next year and no one knocking at the door to be an every day CFer. Also, I would consider ke

  • Oh no. Chris Getz maybe asked for a desirable target in trade negotiations. It's truly unfortunate dialogue ends completely after one player is inquired about.

Don't worry you'll be right here with the I told you so posts. We never doubted you.

It is the Soxtalk way.

Yep, this is obnoxious.  Can Getz just not win many trades or is this the preemptive defense for him?

If a guy objectively does not have much trade value, then he does not have much trade value. That's not an excuse for getting a small return, that's the reason for getting a small return. There's a difference.

Idk if I really care that much anymore as long as Luis Robert is no longer on the Sox after Thursday.

Just have a great, showcase series against the Phillies, take the best offer and move on.

His value now isn't honestly much in question.  The real question is why did we pass on all of the other windows when it was higher.

Getz isn't winning any trades with what he has to trade. He already fucked up the trades of his best assests sans one.

Guess we’re just supposed to accept that no one is blame for s%*# return

I have no idea who's available. Neither do you. Most of us learn before our 30's that trade rumors are planted for reasons. Obviously, if Chris Getz is being offered Crochet packages for Robert, he should take the best one and run. If he's being offered garbage, perhaps there are creative ways to get more value.

So if they trade for Vientos, will it have been planted? Or real? Just want to catch up to where you were in your 30's.

I'm on the record saying multiple back-end prospects with limited reps/younger age would be better than Vientos. A Vientos package is a worst case scenario imo.

Sox couldn't have traded him sooner, couldn't have helped him develop better, and couldn't help him stay healthier.

With all their past successes, they've earned the benefit of the doubt from me.

Give me Gilbert and 2-3 lotto tickets (some 18 year old A-ballers)

I am not a fan of trading for Vientos and would prefer actual prospects, but come on, there are a lot of worse outcomes possible than getting him.

Getz needs to hurry up and trade Robert, people’s brains are melting in real time in this thread.

Robert got like 8 hits and people are suddenly being picky about the return of arguably the worst hitter in the sport over the past 2 calendar years.

It’s the genius of Getz

There it is.

The majority of us can agree it was a mistake to not trade him after 2023. Anyone trying to defend that decision today is just being stubborn.

You can talk all you want about not getting the value back then, I can respect that stance, but to dig in your heels still today is so ridiculous. This guy that was too valuable to trade is arguably worth nothing today. It was a mistake that absolutely will stunt this rebuild timeline.

We should probably let your reading skills mature more before we continue this conversation.

If someone is arguing he was “too valuable to trade” in the offseason of 23/24, then what about last summer? He was still deemed a “high-quality outfielder” because most were still writing off his first half performance to injuries and a typical slow start. Heck, his $20M team options were still considered “reasonable” back then.

Shhhhh you’re just supposed to accept the reality of the situation and move on

Sox didn’t want to include money

Instead, they paid him ~$14M over the past year to watch his trade value erode. Brilliant.
