Not that concerned about re-signing a RH bat only guy in 4 years. For trading Robert, who apparently we would decline an option on, being able to acquire plausible power for the corners where we are shockingly decrepit at providing, I think it's a good bet.

I’d wager large amounts of money that Robert ends up over 2 fWAR this season despite the slow start and that he ends up over 3 fWAR next year if healthy. Honestly, if you think that level of production is easily replaceable, then maybe go check the free agent list and then filter on CF. I’m not sure you’re going to love what you find there. Finding one that can put up a 4+ WAR season is quite difficult though. Look, they should trade ROBERT if they can get something decent for him. But dumping him for a back end top 20 prospect just doesn't really do much for me. I personally would rather run it back next season than take a poor return. The payroll can certainly sustain it, and the Sox could be interesting-ish next season.
