It’s the offseason? What was he “getting away with?”

Season after season, you suck to the tune of an OPS barely above .700 as a #3 overall pick, and you aren’t working hard on your swing with coaches in the offseason?  Instead, he was working on his golf swing.  I bet he has a good handicap though.  What a bum…

So everyone knows how lazy he is, but we paid him $6 million to come back.  Outstanding.

Brilliant psychoanalysis...insightful knowledge of the makeup of your own so-called franchise players.

Graveman/Kelly

Moncada

Jimenez

Lance Lynn

Grandal

Tim Anderson

Benintendi

Robert

Keuchel

The guy isn’t worth a million, yet stupid Getz paid him $6 million because the Sox basically didn’t want to admit that they made a bad draft pick.

Or somehow lose in arb based on rather pedestrian RBI and homer numbers at first base.

What was the original projection?

$7.5-8 million?

The estimate was $6 million.  He signed for $5.85 million.

It could be true, but also not mean anything. I don’t think Vaughn is lazy or not putting in the work. I just think he’s not very good or athletic. In short, bring Elko up. Send Vaughn down for a while. See what happens. They have nothing to lose at this point.

If that is true, that definitely means that he isn’t putting in the work.  AND, it means the other players see it too

True or not true, Osik is a dick for spreading those accusations about another player.  As for AV, judge him from his performance at the plate and on the field.

Me, I just don't understand why AV hasn't made adjustments to his stance, leg kick, and approach at the plate. He knows he needs to hit home runs to remain in the starting line-up so he often gets pull happy, strikes out or hits into some maddening, rally-killing double plays.

I have not seen Elko other than hone run highlights. Maybe he is worth trying at DH, but if it was me, I'd rather bring up  Kyle Teel.

That's about the 12th ex player or minor leaguer who has now spilled the beans on no longer open secrets in the organization.

A microscope on every hidden corner and dark secret of the organization is kind of refreshing.

After all...that's the ONLY thing that will serve to bring about needed reforms/modernizations in the "good 'old boys" way of running (what needs to be a more highly-modernized) an organization like it's STILL the 1980s.

Teel needs to improve in some of the raw aspects of his catching game.

In Chicago...he automatically takes catching time from Quero.

There's zero rush.  If he was hitting 900 or at least 825-850 rather than 750 or whatever, most reasonable fans would have zero issue with Kyle getting promoted as well.

He'll also have to get at bats from DH and/or 1B eventually...unless they try to pull another Andrew Vaughn emergency outfield conversion with him too.

They also need to decide what to do with Thaiss (best player fWAR on team) or RH Korey Lee first.

Not to dance on his grave but funny that Hostetler used to always say “makeup separates” and then with his two premier picks he chooses two guys with zero physical growth potential that you had to assume had great makeup.

But instead it was Madrigal and Vaughn.

White Sox fans guide to what is credible and what is a lie.

Negatives are truth

Positives are lies

You'll be correct 90% of the time. The culture just keeps getting carried down for over a century. Send everyone to Nashville, call them the Nashville Cats then place an expansion White Sox team in Chicago.

Thaiss is 30 years old. Sox need to trade him as soon as they can given the log jam at catcher. I can't prove that Teel will hit from his stats, but he is one of those players where I just have that sense. I met him at Sox Fest and he impressed me. Same with Braden. Good prospects and nice guys.

A guy who trained with him just told you why, and you called him a dick.

Cute, but no.

Perfect example is the Bryce Harper story from the other day.  That story was anonymous sourced with no effort made at confirmation.   Anyone with any sense should question that.  This is directly from a primary source who observed these actions himself.

In a day and age where people pick and choose what they believe based on whether they agree with it or not, it is much better to understand how to trace to source material to decide how much credence to put into something instead of do I like it or not.

Definitely better than attacking the messenger because the message hurt your feelings.
