Regardless of the disposition of the India ball, I hope the brain trust will take the opportunity to ask themselves whether Amaya's glove is giving enough value to justify his use of that roster spot

no smart team is keeping a +5 run SS defensively that couldn't hit 200 in AAA.

That was actually the first time I got legit mad all year.

I get angry every time they fail at fundamental baseball.  They're major leaguers.  Far too often they don't execute basic plays.  It's one thing to be beat by better players.  It's another to lose because you play like clowns.

This happens when you don't throw strikes. Booser can't close he has no control. Actually none of them do.

The Bad News Bears would be proud!

This is a frustrating game. Burke deserved to win. I'm tired of these shitty lineups keeping Robert Fresh? No even 40 games has passed. This load management thing is dumb. You do that when you have capable bench players not Palacios. Actually they can DFa Taylor too. Fletcher was pretty good defensively. Palacios can go to his palace and amaya can play for the Alaska goldpanners

Booser, another feather in our GM’s cap.  Getz actually gave up a prospect for a 33-year old bum reliever.  Another reliever in the bullpen with no control that walks too many batters.

5-pitch lead off walk.  Then it got ugly.

Doesn’t really matter, but if they were going to bring in Robert for defense anyway, why not do it an inning earlier and move Taylor to LF?

Venable did not have a good game.  With Fermin being a good bunter, you have to have the 3B field that ball.

Could raise the question about Booser coming in to face 4 out of 5 right-handed batters as well while the prospect righty who has been getting high-leverage situations had only thrown 3 pitches.

Another game with three runs or less.

Another game with a crushing fundamental error.

3rd game this year the Sox took a lead in the 7th inning or later and lost.

We should be used to this by now shouldn't we?

Nothing changes until new ownership, it's really that simple.

MLB > Leaderboards > Team Bullpen Rankings

This is a sorted list of the best bullpens in baseball according to THE BAT's context-neutral projected 'true talent' ERA.  This incorporates, among other things, regression, multiple weighted years of data, aging, velocity, minor league and foreign league data, and adjustments to account for the quality of opposing hitters, ballparks, umpires, weather, pitch-framing, defense, and more for each reliever on the team, weighted by projected innings pitched over the remainder of the season.  Note that this includes not just the current members of the bullpen, but all pitchers expected to pitch in relief over the course of an entire season.

White Sox 30th

Hey, at least we're ahead of the Pirates and WAY ahead of the Rockies here!!!

Padres, Cubs, Guardians, Tigers, Royals #1-5   SF, NYM, SAC/ATH, Seattle, LAD make up #6-10 (all pretty big budgets other than the A's)

Some of Venable’s decisions have been pissing me off but I’m trying to give him the benefit of the doubt as a rookie manager of a terrible team.

too cute about "using the whole roster". the defensive substitutions were not helpful at all. every single one backfired.

Ouch. Flat out gave this one away. I was in the car and Royals announcers mocked us giving it away late. Denny Mathews a homer but good announcer said: "I've always said good teams find a way to win in the latter innings; bad teams find a wayu to lose." He called us a bad team

Could we have ended it with a DP on that grounder up the middle that the shortstop couldn't corral cleanly where he flipped it wide of Meidroth? I still think we win 1-2 this series. Unless this game crushes the confidence. p.s. Meidroth is a national mockery tonight cause of the ball off the head but I still think he's a fine player/prospect. As embarrassing in series history as when the two Sox fans tackled the Royals first base coach?

I remember one time I went to a Sox Royals game at Kauffman (when I used to get mad when we lost) and Sox led 3-0 the whole way and I was so happy, drinking and mocking my friends. Bob Hamelin in the ninth hit a 3-run homer to tie it and we got beat I think in extra innings. Maddest I've ever been at a game.

Is Beni hurt? If so too bad cause he's become a real MLB player. He's one of the 4-6 guys on our team I think is MLB caliber.

Yes he’s hurt, some kind of leg tightness.

Anyone else think Meidroth's head looks too big for his body?  Now it's too big and has a knot on it.

At least he didn't rub it. Or, did he?

Booser induced two pop-ups and a weak grounder. He should have a save.
