One of the ugliest wins this season but counts the same as the rest.  6-3, have to go into Minnesota ready for that defense to come after them next week, and can’t let McCarthy run wild

They're gonna see what Dart did to the defense this week and give JJ a lot of designed runs. We've got our work cut out for us from here on out.

The Bears have pretty much beaten everyone they should have so far, but the schedule is an absolute gauntlet starting next week. Their current schedule is #31 in SOS while the remaining schedule is first. In other news, the Pats are gonna end up with an SOS under .400, that's gotta be one of the easiest schedules of all time.

Someone convince Caleb that they're down with two minutes left the entire game.

If they could catch the ball he would have thrown for 300 yards and 2 more TDs. He still isn’t where he needs to be but you can see the upside when he puts it all together!

Hopefully TJ is back because he was really missed

I don't even think it's a case of Edwards being that good, his replacement (Sewell) is terrible. We saw that when he couldn't tackle Singletary and let him go for 40 yards. Good thing Daboll went for a field goal on that drive or else we don't win this game.

They are still just a mediocre football team - but they are also just a half season into Ben Johnson's tenure with a young QB who clearly still has a lot of room to grow. He still makes mistakes and misses at times, but you can see real progress, and of course real frustrations still exist.  He played way better than the stats indicated, but he also had a few opportunities where he bailed his own self out. Even on that final TD run, he had Kmet immediately open for a nice gain and clearly had Zacheus open for what probably is a TD (presuming he caught it).

Now in those conditions maybe he just figured, take the run which was clearly for there a solid gain in those conditions.  But there were also a few where a better ball and they could have had a big play. But in fairness, beyond the drops - very rarely have we seen a Bears wideout or tight end make a play for his QB this year - I'm hoping that is to come.  Loveland's catch in the 4th was pretty good - but nothing like we have seen regularly done against the  Bears.

With that said - I have so much confidence in seeing this team continue to develop and grow as the season goes and into next year. Defensively they are a flawed team, especially with the major injuries to core DB's. This was a flawed defense to start - those injuries combined with TJ Edwards are pretty tough to overcome.  With that said - hopefully we see some growth and see a few players step up and they do end up getting back JJ and Gordon with enough time for them to play meaningful football and be meaningful contributors to the Bears this season (and they look like their high end selves).

Wow. The bears have not played well but their luck late in games definitely seems to be on their side this year.

The bears 6 wins are against opponents with a combined record of:

15-43-1

They've played one team so far who is above .500 (as of today) and that's the Lions who gave them their worst loss of the year

I figured them for 5 wins this season. Lucky is nice. They will get some confidence. i think they only have 1 or 2 more wins left though. Get a decent draft pick and work on the defense.

I had them at around 8 wins, maybe 9 - I probably at this point have them at 9 wins.  Offense is picking up better than I thought, defense worse, but they certainly have benefited from a bad schedule, but you also see real progress (albeit plenty of flaws).  Its why I was pretty adamant that trading assets this year would have been a mistake as well.  With that said - if they make real progress and can fix some of their challenges and we see real player development (which I wouldn't bet against), I could see them hitting 10 (11 seems tough given the schedule and the defense).

LT and pass rusher are very clear needs.

This is about right.  No one should be making Super Bowl reservations quite yet, but we have seen a pretty nice leap in both talent and play, which is what we all wanted to see.

feels like a lot of teams are like the bears right now. Our offense is improving, our defense is going to be struggling until Kyler/Edwards get back.

Offensively it is nice to still feel like we can get more from Colston/Luther, but defensively it is pretty disappointing that the players we paid this offseason are all injured and seem constantly injured. Feels like Kyler tops out at 6 games a year, so frustrating.

Before the season started, If someone showed me the standings in the NFC North after Week 10…I would have “Yes please”

After losing 10 in a row last year, winning six out of their last seven feels pretty good. Probably not going to stay that way, but if they can just go .500 the rest of the way, they have a really good shot at playing meaningfull football in January.

I know one score games are flukey, but when you are really bad at them it's not. Want to give some flowers to Johnson, who has gotten us to end of games and halfs with full timeouts and aware of time optimization. Even the Vikings game, they knew the right thing to do, almost did it perfect, yet our peg legged kicker couldn't execute.

For Bears fans especially, the evidence seems very obvious. In 2023, after the Browns game in late December, it was the third time that season the Bears lost a game after leading by 10+ points in the 4th quarter. Then you had the Lions game on Thanksgiving last year, the Washington game...etc. And it's all those little things that lead up to blowing those games. Good coaching prevents those things from happening, Ben Johnson is a really good football coach, and the Bears aren't hurting themselves when the pressure is on.

Flukes happen. But when they keep happening, and seemingly keep going your way...they kind of stop becoming flukes and start becoming opportunities to cash in on.

Asante Samuel jr(NOT SENIOR) is supposed to be visiting today.  I genuinely wonder what he has in the tank, spinal fusion surgery is no small thing.   However, from his perspective he has to see the Bears as a good chance for playing time and the Bears need bodies at DB

Yeah, they are improving.  That's what I wanted to see this year.  Things are getting better, especially on the offensive side of the football and with Williams,  Keep adding in the trenches and see where this thing goes.

With Junior’s surgery, should we want Senior instead?  😶

Excellent troll regardless.  👍🏻
