2025-26 NFL Season Thread

While Caleb’s deep ball accuracy was a problem yesterday, it seemed like most of those throws were under considerable pressure.  I don’t know what the problem was with the WRs but for whatever reason that mid route was a problem for them, both DJ and Burden dropped the same pass in the same spot, and DJ almost dropped a second.   Weird day across the board for catching the ball, the Vikings had their own really weird issues holding onto it

NFL is weird. On a day where Jacoby Brissett completed 47 passes yesterday, I watched almost the entire SNF game, and Jared Goff, a guy that came into the game with a 70% completion rate this year and last year...was missing guys all over the place, went 14/37 last night. Eagles defense is obviously great, but he was missing guys in bunches last night.

Caleb and Johnson can only get better and it will be magical.  My only issue is Williams is still holding the ball too long and not getting results out of it.

The only short coming I see is Poles building the roster needed to cover for injuries.  Once they start having to pay some guys the free agency and drafting misses will hurt.

Why was TE3 targeted 3 times?

Dennis Allen seemed to relax on the blitzing yesterday while Flores stepped it up.  I'm guessing it must be a scheme v scheme decision.

There also has been a rash of really low scoring ugly games across the league.   And a lot of them in prime time

Goff has always struggled against Vic Fangio's defense. He can not figure out Fangio's scheme and it has been that way for years. In fact, when the Rams played the Patriots in the Super Bowl a few years back, Belichick stole Fangio's entire scheme for that game and Goff struggled.

If Goff becomes a super villain, then Vic Fangio is his origin story. He exposed him so hard in 2018 that it eventually got him traded out of LA. 7 years later, Vic is still haunting him.

Listened to Big Cat with Waddle and Silvy yesterday, and thought he summed up the rest of the season well.

Bears are now in a Best of 7 series. Win 4, and you're absolutely making the playoffs. 3 wins could still get you in, but you go 4-3 and you're in.

It would be nice to have Jaylon, Gordon and Edwards down the stretch.

It feels like they are circling the Eagles game...but I suppose they could be waiting to see how things go. Win on Sunday and I can see them almost waiting to Packers game - get them 100% right - and almost just give it your best against Eagles knowing probability isn't good. Lose to the Steelers and urgency goes up quite a bit.  One week at a time.

What they have done without these guys is pretty crazy TBH.

Jaylon is the best player on the team, and I don't think it's that close. Not the most impactful per say, but from a talent and position standpoint, he's the best player on the team. Not having him basically the entire year and them being 7-3 is in fact, pretty crazy.

I'd argue Joe Thuney, but yes Jaylon is definitely among our top 3 guys.
