I guess so....I just hope they are still selling Cuban Comet sandwiches in 2029 wherever they are playing.

Agreed, that's all that really matters. Ill be enjoying one tomorrow.

The one note that causes me concern was the statement in the release that the Sox said there's no assurance any such transaction will occur.

I think that’s just nothing language to attempt to temper things down.

I'm not sure it's so amazing that Reinsdorf has the ability to hold on through 2034.  Yikes.

This.

Weird timing with Mansueto.

The 2029 thing is odd.  Why then?

Because Jerry hates us and will drag this out as long as possible?

Hopefully the Ishbias can spend some payroll money while we are waiting for them to take over.

Doubt they will this offseason with the lockout looming after 2026.

I don't see them or most teams for that matter until after thevwork stoppage and the new CBA is agreed upon.

Yep. I think we'll see an all time low fir FA money this off season. For most teams.

I'm guessing it will be more along the lines of what the release said, "capital investments" aka money for a new stadium (and I'm guessing it will be a lot more than the 200 million JR is supposedly willing to contribute...)

Yep a new stadium is way more important than trying to buy our way to 75 wins

4 years is best case scenario.  Could be 2034.  And it’s not like Reinsdorf is the type to give up control early.  As long as he’s alive I guess.

This fits with the notion that Jerry just doesn't want to give up control.  I'm just glad there is a succession plan in place that doesn't involve the Reinsdorfs.  In 2034, he'll be 98 years old.
