In fact, they are barred from carrying more than 13 because, if they could, they would. I bet it's Varland to the 60 day IL and Robert to the 10-day. But that is just a guess. I like Lee but there's no reason to have him on the 26 man right now. Quero seems to have made a little adjustment and is playing well enough to rotate with Teel. I'd probably say Quero plays 4 nights a week behind the dish and Teel a couple, with maybe Teel working in at first or DH a bit as well. Am I crazy to think they should just keep Lee as a backup catcher? He’s still pretty young but would he even return that much in a trade? Also, isn’t it possible that one of Quero/Teel becomes more of a 1B/DH if they both wind up being very good hitters and you want both starting? All three could catch and it would keep them all fresh. I’d rather have a third catcher with an arm and some pop on the roster than scrubs like Crapa and Palacios.
