chitownsportsfan
Honestly, beautiful. Pounded a bad team. Last year we were the nail too often in these type of games. Sweep them.
WestEddy
I remember somebody saying the Rockies haven't won a home series all season. Do it against somebody else. ...Yup. 14 home series before this, lost them all. We're #15 for them.

WhiteSox2023
Colson looking good, both defensively and offensively. Hopefully he keeps it up cuz that improves everything with Meidroth being a natural 2B.
greg775
Oh my. Sosa and Colton. In my mind the Sox are close to having enough hitters to contend in our weak division. The problem I think is our pitching staff is not good. It's not in the top 50 percent of all staffs. Montgomery baby. He appears to be a natural hitter. What a swing. With him, Meidroth, Teel, Vargas, Quero, maybe Baldwin, Beni, Yoda, and whoever I'm forgetting (Tauchman isn't so bad) we can hit. If the season started today we might contend for the division title though. We look more like a .500 to .550 team than the usual horsebleep squad. Colton baby!! Way to hit. I’m an optimist, but no way is this thing close to a competitive lineup. What we are seeing is how much better a lineup can feel when you have close to league average hitters in most spots. Unfortunately there are still multiple holes and we are completely lacking in impact and power, which there aren’t obvious solves for in the minors after Braden. This is going to come down to spending some money if they really want to hurry this rebuild up. If we went out and added Alonso and Bellinger this offseason, I think we could see the makings of a competitive lineup by 2027: Meidroth, 2B C. Montgomery, SS* Bellinger, LF* Alonso, 1B B. Montgomery, RF# Teel, CA/DH* Quero, DH/CA Vargas, 3B Baldwin, CF#

It’s 100% a parody or at minimum there are posts purposely being made to get a rise out of people. For years I have envisioned there is some trolling forum on the dark web and that Greg is basically a legend there just laughing at getting away with this act for so long. That or he is just a completely uniformed poster out of Lawrence, KS. Could be either option I guess…lol.

SoxAce
Sox don't do many things right as far as development, but promoting Colson to face (potentially) the worst team in MLB history was a brilliant move. Kid's confidence has to be sky high right now.
WestEddy
This team feels like the Fisk/Walker/Calderon/Hibbard/Melido Perez teams that ushered in the 93 playoff team. Then again, a few of them could pop and be perennial all-stars.

tray
I don't recall ever meeting someone whose first name was "Colton" and only a handful named "Colson," so I am not going to pile on that heap. It is one letter for chrysesakes. Who hasn't made spelling errors? It takes a lot more dedication to one-up-manship to qualify for trolldom, and yes, you know who you are. That said, it is really too early to cast Montgomery as part of a set infield after just two games against some of the worst ML pitching in the high altitude atmosphere in Colorado. Monty (lol) made a diving catch which was great... but SS in the majors requires skills and consistency that will take time to evaluate. For starters, let's see how Colson and the rest of our line-up fare against Toronto. Edited July 6 by tray

I don't think it's a reach to assume he's going to get every opportunity to start and stay at SS for the duration of this season, and it's not unreasonable to imagine him in the spot going forward.

Then maybe a little earlier. There was a time, 85-87, where guys like Hibbard, Calderon, Gallagher, Walker, Ozzie - it felt like we were looking at some stability, and only Guillen really stuck. I feel that way about these guys. One or two may be on the next winning team, and the rest fall off after their one 3 WAR season, or whatever.
Dick Allen
The biggest takeaway for me in these mostly meaningless games is Baldwin is playing Cf even with Taylor in the line up. I think we now know where the Sox envision him in the future.
