I b**** about this every year, but why the heck do the Cardinals, with like the 5th largest fan base in the sport, get a competitive balance pick?!

  • I really miss Harold. Was really helpful for me and informative. I think fucking losers on this site finally chased him away. It’s a real shame if so.

  • I'm with you. Hard to argue about a left handed hitting OF with a patient approach and some notable thump with solid tools across the board. I take this all day at 44.

  • Yea same. Imagine chasing off an insider who routinely would feed the board tidbits on draft intel, trade info, and knowledge on the inner workings of the org. Shows how shitty and petty some of

Yup. He was another rumored target. I don't remember if he was in mock mentions or if mentioned by @Harold's Leg Lift.

Do they keep it in the backyard with Bauer?

57. Kyle Lodise
SS

Ht: 5'11" | Wt: 180 | B-T: R-R

School: Georgia Tech Drafted/Committed: Never Drafted
Age At Draft: 21.8

BA Grade: 50/High

Lodise is a 5-foot-11, 180-pound shortstop who spent two years with Division II Augusta (Ga.), where he established a track record as a high-contact hitter before transferring to Georgia Tech in 2025. Lodise exploded onto the ACC scene and hit for much more power than scouts expected, finishing with a .327/.427/.664 line with 16 home runs, a 17.6% strikeout rate and a 12.7% walk rate. He was one of the better hitters in the conference along with his cousin Alex Lodise, a shortstop for Florida State. Despite Kyle Lodise’s power surge in 2025, many scouts expect him to be a hit-over-power bat at the next level. He’s a patient hitter who doesn’t expand the zone frequently but can get a bit passive on pitches in the middle of the zone. Lodise makes plenty of contact with a simple righthanded swing, but almost all of his home run damage came against pitches under 92 mph. His best tool is his running ability. He’s a plus runner who went 13-for-13 on the bases with Georgia Tech and went 57-for-63 (90.1%) in his college career. He has a chance to stick at shortstop as an average, reliable defender but could also move to second base. Lodise is a split-camp player who is loved by model-heavy teams and viewed more skeptically by those who value physical tools.

Scouting Grades: Hit: 50 | Power: 40 | Run: 55 | Field: 50 | Arm: 45.

Ugh, Kyle Lodise. Ugh.

Saw Lodise a lot. He will be a second baseman. Nothing special

So Billy is a cholo. Orale!!!!

Unless it's underslot to pay for Fauske, I just don't get the Lodise pick. There's no upside here. He really profiles as a utility player. I would rather take an upside play or get a pitcher. At least with pitchers, depth plays. With mediocre position players there's almost no benefit.

Fauske is very, very likely well overslot

I’m always underwhelmed by the non first round college infielders. But I will say they do work out fine for other teams a bunch, but have never played above what  we’d expect (get to double A and are already maxed out).

so I will continue to not like these types of players but hey maybe we are a different org now who knows.

Even so, I’d be surprised if there is much savings with Lodise. Maybe 50k or so.

Yeah they have to underslot the 3rd pick to pay for him

BA has Lodise #57 overall, so I doubt he’s a big under slot guy if at all.

Keith Law had Lodise #60 on his board.

One guy I do like who fits into that bucket is Antonacci. I think he's gonna hit. There might not be a ton of impact, but he looks like a big leaguer to me.

Happy with the initial rounds as we added two HS premium positions. Excited to see how the money looks for day 2.
