Hagen Smith, Bonemer, Antonacci, I'm willing to add Braeden Montgomery to it also

Sucks McClain and Sauke have been hurt - could've seen them making an impact

They did just fine if you ask me.

Phil Fox is coming along nicely, too.

Hopefully Davis Martin looks good tonight. They could actually get something good for him due to control. I feel they rushed him back to showcase him.

Nothing to indicate he’s on the market

I think he’s far more likely to be part of an offseason trade, but probably needs to have a good August & September to improve his value.

I don't want to be a downer on a fun thing but I just am not that excited to get back the kinds of players we'll get back for our trade chips. A whole lotta tito polos I feel like.

I hope I am wrong, but I don’t see a ton of moves being made.

Assuming Sox are able to clear some of the vets off this roster the next few days, they should bring in recently DFA Eric Haase for no other reason than Venable being willing to play Quero and Teel together. Feel like half of Haase career homers have come against the Sox.

I would rather do this with Lee instead of Haase, not that the Sox have shown any desire to do so.

While I agree, I think they'd prefer Lee to play everyday versus a few starts a month. I hope they trade Lee next couple days personally, out of options next season. Imagine Padres would give up something for him.

Hagen's decine scares me more than the others.  We had people last year talking about him being on the major league roster THIS YEAR.  He doesn't have the Schultz excuse of not having pitched deep into games before either.  Dude just literally lost the ability to control the baseball.

He’s always had command issues before getting into the White Sox system, he’s a work in progress and I feel much better with Bannister guiding him than previous pitching instructors.

It just stings more because Griffin and Weatherholt have had great years.

Chris Flexen DFA'd. Scoop him up

He was very good for them until recently - his last 14 IP he's given up 13 runs. Guessing the Cubs think he's cooked.

Before that stretch he was basically unhittable.

And they are probably correct.  Somehow this guy managed to maintain a decent to low ERA considering his awful metrics.  Take a look at the hits and walks he’s given up the past two years with both Chicago teams, along with his strikeout rate.  The Cubs must realize that the horseshoe has already started to fall out of his ass.

I’m shocked they haven’t made a move yet

They don't have a lot to offer.  Literally everyone they want to trade has major flaws and other team would rather have their first choices instead of the Sox guys.  The Sox were going to be last minute kind of moves once plan A, B, and C fall through for other teams.

I don’t see as many trades compared to previous deadlines. Houser, Robert and Tauchman are the ones I could see being dealt, but I won’t be surprised if we hold on to all of them.

We should start seeing some meaningful trade activity today.  Typically the vast majority of moves happen on the final two days before the deadline, with the final day having about 3x the volume that the second to last day has.  Based on recent trends, we should expect around 10 trades or so today and close to 30 tomorrow.

I’m assuming most of our trades will go down to the wire.  Robert is a tricky asset and while I don’t feel Getz’s rumored demands are unreasonable, we are living in a day and age of prospect hugging and teams will try to call our bluff on holding for as long as possible.  Tauchman seems like a tomorrow move as all the signaling so far is that we will hold if we don’t get something of value in return.  Houser is getting moved, but he feels like more of a backup for teams who can’t land something impactful.  My guess is he goes tomorrow, but likely we’ll before the official deadline.

My prediction is we see Slater dealt today.  Useful player but a rental weak side platoon corner OF is going to have limited value.  Find a team willing to give up a lottery ticket and move on.  The other possibility is a surprise trade involving one of Sosa, Davis, or Lee.  I think Korey is the most likely to get moved out of those three and if it happens, I could see that being today possibly.  Otherwise, I expect most of our movement to happen tomorrow.
