WBWSF
There has been talk on this site that Robert Jr, Benintendi and Tauchman might all be traded at the deadline. It is possible that all three might be traded. That would leave the team with an outfield of Taylor, Baldwin, Slater and Robertson. Obviously that would be one real bad outfield. I wonder if they would bring up Braden Montgomery. Who else would they bring up to play the outfield?

Baldwin, Julks, Dru Baker and Fletcher would play, probably in that order.

Its depressing to think they would be the starting outfielders.

I'm beginning to worry if they would be the starting outfielders in 2026. And if that is the case there's no hope to turn this around any time soon. I’ll put your mind at ease: they likely aren’t moving Benintendi.

Depending on who gets traded, I would imagine Dru Baker (25, RHH) and Will Robertson (27, LHH) will get some runway in the last two months, here. Beyond them, Bryan Ramos will be out of options after this season, so if they want to give him a good look at 3B or the OF, August and September will be the time to do it. Robert will go, for sure, and Tauchman is most probably gone. Slater is a useful platoon bat; somebody will want him. That leaves 3 slots that Baldwin, Baker and maybe Fletcher would fill, as Robertson's already on the roster. As you saw with the handling of Julks and Fletcher after they didn't really acquit themselves in 2024, they were both DFAed, and haven't seen the bigs this year. If Baker and Robertson s%*# the bed in the last two months, here, I could certainly see Getz cutting bait and moving on. Baker has 3 options to burn, and Robertson will have 2 after this season. Between Luis Robert, Tauchman, Houser, Wilson, Slater, Lee, Alexander - somebody's going to bring back a young-ish OF prospect who could be projected to play above replacement level, and will be in the mix after the deadline. You are right, there is no hope until a new CBA is reached and Ishbia takes over. I wish that wasn't the case but that is reality.

Wasting his value just makes the process longer.

greg775
Past trade update: Andrew Vaughn on fire with the Brew Crew. He's just mashing the baseball. That would be cool if he became another Tatis. Pity the White Sox in terms of developing players.

Do you think their hitting coaches are so good that it only took them 24 hours to "develop" a 27 year old? Squirmin' for Yermin
Surprised the Dodgers haven't done anything. They need some pitching bad and are usually good for one blockbuster. Miller?

Miller? “He has spent much of the 2025 campaign with the Dodger's Triple-A affiliate, the Oklahoma City Comets, and struggled to produce at that level, as well. Through 16 appearances (including 14 starts), Miller's ERA sits at 5.58, his WHIP remains high at 1.63, and he has nearly as many walks (49) as he does strikeouts (57).” And now moved to the AAA bullpen…
