9/19 Sox vs. Padres 6:40PM

Recommended Posts

Cease has had a s%*# season. Walking almost 4 guys per 9. Elevated ERA in today's run environment at 4.6. K rate is up but so are hits. He's missing bats, but he's wild and getting hit hard when they do make contact. Colson should be able to get in some good counts tonight.

SD has been pretty bad the last month....treading water and now 6-7 games under high water mark.

Cease Darvish King (coming off injury and shaky now) isn't a winning playoff rotation.

They've lost their second best bullpen guy and Bogaerts as well.

A very nice pull power swing. Solid batting eye. Needs to become a full time 3B and work on his overall contact skills this offseason.

Just has to stay on the ball and pull everything.  He’s an automatic out when he hits it to right.

An .800 ops in the minors is the new standard of excellence.

Montgomery has had his peaks and valleys, but has been close to predicted, which is a minor miracle with Sox prospects historically.

When asked about where they want to improve in the offseason he mentioned outfield offense. Pretty vague though. I didn't catch anything else that important but i was only half watching

I'm not really sure if he can develop much oppo power but it would be nice to be able to flip one into RF from time to time especially on the road in bigger parks. That said, you're right his break will be buttered as a dead pull hitter if he's a solid big leaguer. Lots of guys make it work, we just never seem to find them lately.
