Makes me like him even more. He’s clearly happy in Cleveland and he made staying there his priority over getting significantly more money. Respect the hell out of that.

And they reward him by never spending the money he saves them.

Good for the Dodgers, they care about winning unlike a bunch of other teams.

  • I have a really hard time viewing the Jerry Reinsdorf owned White Sox as victims. The system most designed to screw the Sox is the one JR operates.

The Dodgers lol.  This league is just dumb. Best is those who think there are no issues. "Free Market."

Credit to Ramirez for staying with the same team his whole career but he has left a lot of money on the table by never going to free agency. He could easily double that on the open market.

With most athletes, its not about the amount of money. Its about having a better contract than the competition. Its the competition. In the locker room the discussion isnt amount of the contract. Its he made more than him.

Darvish retiring early with 3 years and $43m remaining on his deal

Or not?

Haha, his wife probably smacked him out of his stupidity to leave $43 million on the table.

They'll figure something out, like the Angels did with Rendon.

That would be annoying.

Ah that sucks

Didn't want nor expect the Sox to sign him

Acuna is your starting CF.  Getz pretty much told you that when they traded for him in the Robert Deal.

Still need another OFer, though.

Yep. He hyped him up, even though we all know it was a salary dump move.

Every GM says stuff like this in every sport. It's not a big deal. It's like when a team picking 20th says how whoever they picked would have been their pick if they had #1.

I just thought it was funny considering he was just about the perfect player for the Mets to give up considering their roster and that he was out of options.

And the guy they should have picked was #2.

Price is probably fine if you are trying to compete and need a CF, but the fit makes no sense for us.  I could honestly see Acuna providing as much fWAR as Bader next year if Luisangel can tap into his power some.  Bader’s bat is going to regress a lot next year and there is no simply no reason to block Acuna in 2026.

Where we are now, I'm fine with Baldwin/Acuna and wait for Braden to come up at some point in the year.

Let's find out if we have anything in Acuna and Baldwin (I like him, I think he has a chance to be a good ball player).

That price is exactly what I expected. I said 2/$20M.
