I would have preferred Bader to Hays, but Hays cheaper. Either way, nice to have at least one veteran out there. Hays defense has been trending down, but his arm is still great and he's a viable starter. GGajewski18 Posted yesterday at 02:45 PM Share Posted yesterday at 02:45 PM This is a great signing C Teel/Quero 1B Murakami/Mead 2B Meidroth/Acuna SS Montgomery 3B Vargas LF Hays CF Acuna/Baldwin RF Pereira/Baldwin DH Benintendi Definitely think Sosa is gone by the end of the weekend
SCCWS Posted yesterday at 02:48 PM Share Posted yesterday at 02:48 PM Hays, 30, last year hit .266/.315/.453 with 15 home runs in 2025 and was one of Cincinnati’s best offensive players when healthy. However, multiple injuries limited him to 103 games in 2025. He also dealt with injuries in 2024 with the Baltimore Orioles and Philadelphia Phillies. PaleAleSox Posted yesterday at 02:52 PM Share Posted yesterday at 02:52 PM Nice little move. Gotta think Sosa is being moved for some pitching help.
Chicago White Sox Posted yesterday at 02:54 PM Share Posted yesterday at 02:54 PM “The Money Will Be Spent” coming to life! Also, Fegan made it sound like Getz still wants to add a mid rotation starter. Feels like that plus a couple of trades (Sosa & Lee) and the roster will mostly be in place. We sign one more player, we're not quite as embarrassing as the Rays!
Lukakke Appling Posted yesterday at 02:57 PM Share Posted yesterday at 02:57 PM Nice signing. No real downside and raises the outfield floor a bit from its previous depths of hell.
Chicago White Sox Posted yesterday at 02:58 PM Share Posted yesterday at 02:58 PM The Sox will need to bump someone from the 40 man roster. I think Hudson is most likely with Iriarte & Hill outside possibilities.

No real downside and raises the outfield floor a bit from its previous depths of hell. Worst case scenario he’s a greater OF bat against LHP. That production alone is probably worth $6M. And he won’t kill you against RHP, so provides some hedge if none of the younger OFs and AAAA fodder push for at-bats.
Look at Ray Ray Run Posted yesterday at 03:03 PM Share Posted yesterday at 03:03 PM We no longer have the lowest projection at all three outfield positions. We have passed the Rockies in Left Field! 1
2Deep Posted yesterday at 03:09 PM Share Posted yesterday at 03:09 PM Hays, Baldwin, Acuna I want to see these dudes out there. Can we get rid of benintendi
tray Posted yesterday at 03:16 PM Share Posted yesterday at 03:16 PM Baldwin was a butcher in the OF last year. Acuna profiles more as a second baseman. Lenyn Sosa led the team in HR and had a lot of clutch hits throughout the year but he missed some routine plays at second. No obvious roles for some of these players. It is all as clear as mud.
