Then LAD on Thursday is up in the air with 26th/27th (Fegan) listed as departure dates for WBC/Japan. Unsure if Sasaki might be pitching for LA at this point.

February 21Feb 21 Just Baseball's (and FutureSox's) Adrian White has a fairly thorough breakdown of the White Sox' pitching situation, heading into camp: Chicago White Sox Spring Training Storylines: Pitchers | Just Baseball Quote GM Chris Getz explained that the White Sox have prioritized wiggle room, particularly on the pitching side, because “navigating a full season takes a lot of pitching.” The club has stretched out multiple arms and remains open to adding more, noting it still has “flexibility” if opportunities arise.

February 23Feb 23 Big Kev talking about the 3-0 start is basically how I feel about it. If it puts a smile on your face it or puts a spring in your step it means something. Edited February 23Feb 23 by CaliSoxFanViaSWside it

February 23Feb 23 Red Sox on the prowl for depth LH relief pitching 👀 Another Sox on Sox trade coming ? Red Sox could wait to see who shows up on waivers.
February 24Feb 24 This was fun. Especially liked Antonacci wondering if he might get in trouble for the bat flip followed by Venable just saying "that was amazing" lol
February 25Feb 25 Fegan with a Hagen update in the SoxMachine comments: The velo is particularly encouraging, he was topping out at 97 in AFL (where he had a 13.5 K/9) so it's a good sign that he's already back there first week of spring.

Even with Murakami and to a lesser extent Austin Hays, this team needs all the power it can get. Sosa even with his flaws hit 22 homers last year, he has value.

Sosa’s path to playing time is limited because of his defensive shortcomings. Right now, I’m assuming the bulk of his at-bats will be at DH and against LH pitching. That’s just not a huge role. Obviously injury could change that, but even then Antonacci isn’t too far off and will eventually push for a role. Plus the Sox already have Baldwin who is a better option at 3B or 2B. None of this means you should trade him, but it’s hard to see his value going up as a short side platoon DH.

But he's going to run into Hays for DH bats as well. That would also require sitting Meidroth. A weak side DH with poor defense just pretty much has the same value as a Miguel Andujar/Sheets type...more value to the Sox than most other teams due to their lack of pop from other positions. February 26Feb 26 I went into the White Sox hitting lab and tried hitting off their Trajekt machine. I faced Tarik Skubal, Seth Lugo and Joe Ryan! LOTS of swing and miss. 😂 But not all! Showed some swings to Kyle Teel. pic.twitter.com/r1hGUgGKi4 — Chuck Garfien (@ChuckGarfien) February 26, 2026
