I am sure.  That seems to be the case with anyone who isn't falling in line.

and your greviance is what exactly? That you haven't been able to speak? Or you're getting pushback?

The amount of threads you've derailed this offseason might be a record.

"I'm not paying for this!  You said you were going to fix my car!  All you did was make it work like it did previously!"

  • If it were me, I’d walk down to Acuna and demand he bat switch hitter all season.

Nope, kid is fucking cooked.  If you ain’t fixed before your first full minor league season as a prep pick then it’s officially game over man.

The guy's a professional athlete and has probably played ball since he could walk. Switch hitting isn't quite like teaching yourself to throw left handed.

If it was so easy then................

Yes, my usage of stats and being called a liar and unfair derailed this thread.  I will not make that mistake again.

I would have settled for the statistical discussion I was trying to have, but that wasn't going to happen.

C'mon boys, this thread sounds like a bunch of old catty women sniping at each other.

Regardless of how Slater performed, Getz deserved all the mocking he received for making that statement.  Let’s be honest.

Eh…does it sound ridiculous?  Sure.  Does it suck that our cheap owner created a financial situation where $1.5M signings could even be considered priorities?  No doubt about it.  But at the end of the day, why do I care what Getz says to players as part of his selling process?  Making a free agent feel wanted is part of his job.

We’re getting some warmer weather here in the Chicago area over the next couple weeks as well. Really sunny day and seeing the snow melt. It makes me want to go be productive and clean and organize the garage lol

One of the few fond memories I have of winter in the upper midwest is at least when you get into mid February the sun is again high enough to warm you up a bit and melt the snow, even if the air temp is 30. Can get some decent mid day walks in at least.

Not saying it's easy. Switch-hitting is a taught thing. One isn't born a genetic right-handed hitter. If a hitter has worked from the other side and has reached a comfort level, it's certainly something that could be developed.

I don't even know if Acuña's a switch hitter.

This is really what this victory lap is over?  Getting a guy back to his career norms?  Oh, ok.  I guess when I read "fixed" it meant better than he had been, not the same.  I guess that mean you "win"  congratulations.

And yes, it has become a cult.  Disagree and the insults start flying, which is exactly what happened here.  It turned from talking about a dudes stats to name-calling, and then you got mad when you got it back.

You really are only allowed to have one opinion here anymore.  Even sticking to stats it turned into this.

You just accused me of being in a cult.  A moderator said this after I proved him wrong using numbers.  Me saying you refuse to acknowledge when you’re wrong isn’t “name calling”.  I’m not some snowflake and don’t really care about the bizarre cult comment…just shocked that a moderator is allowed to talk this way to posters.

What we are arguing is how much these hitting "geniuses" have to do with White Sox success. I think the numbers are pretty similar without them.

How many hitting prospects have come up and been productive for the Sox?  And how many scrap free agent signings have worked out in the past?  No one is calling them “geniuses”, but it’s remarkable improvement from where the org was and I’m shocked that people aren’t willing to admit it.

Which was the exact point.  Am I supposed to be impressed by a guy doing exactly what he is always done, except for one bad year?  Oh.  Ok.  Wow.  Amazing.  We are as good as everyone else.  We will be .500 in no time.

Keep moving them goal posts buddy…🤣🤣🤣

Your name calling started before that point.  That was a reply to your post, and not an initiation, as you used the terms "unfair", "bitter", "spin", "purposefully dishonest", and "doesn't understand".  People in cults tend to call anyone who questions them, or their leader, all sorts of names, not in an effort to disprove their point, but to invalid THEM.  If you would like to go back to a baseball based conversation, that's fine, but you aren't going to gaslight me into silence when you come out swinging.

Man I can't wait for the Sox to start winning again. The vibe has sucked here lately

I fully agree.  Can’t make an objectively true positive comment about the White Sox without being called David Koresh.

No no no.... you're just the kool aid drinking woshipper. The Jim Jones is Getz.

Atleast I think that's how that stupid comparison was supposed to go. From a mod no less. Their requirement to be a mod must be low here in all sorts of categories.

Stats are obviously how mlb players are judged, but for some fans, it is also what a player did and can do in clutch situations.

So I like Sosa for having been clutch with many hits and homers and never forget that Vargas Grand Slam to tie the Yankees at 4-4.  It didn't turn out well for him or the WSox, but what a moment.

Maybe he hit a HR in the Venezuelan league.

You've lowered the bar so low, the carpet can't even fit under it.

Can't give credit for improving above a level they should have never been at in the first place.

That said, getting excited for baseball.

I saw this thread at 4 pages and thought there was some good ST stuff in here from the first day of camp, but alas...

He's not, never has been. I'm not aware of any player who started switch hitting in the big leagues. He's not switching to being a switch hitter, i think that much is obvious. He of course hit right handed in winter league because he's a right handed hitter.

Our GM doesn't know the handedness of an acquisition he made. Yikes.

Seriously, dude, WTF's your problem? Why are you trolling me? This is two solid pages of you, SS2k5 and DickAllen just talking BS. Others keep complaining that you guys ruin every thread with your trolling BS. Why don't you go be a clown elsewhere?
