Hey now that’s a series

One game still to go.

Great game to watch. Maybe they won't break their own record for losses this year after all.

Suck it, Toronto!!!

I’m loving this. And we didn’t have to listen to Schriffem. Was he suspended?

I think he means Sox won the series regardless of tomorrow's outcome

I think it makes so much sense. Get their top 3 hitters out. I’d like him to open 70 games.

He probably tried to run "The Canaryville Castro Commet" by HR for a Vargas nickname, and they told him to just stay home.

Of course. My bad. For some reason I was thinking it was a four game series. Maybe because game one was potponed.

Schriffen has UFC duties tonight

I'd be fine with that. He threw 36 innings last year so that'd get him into the 70s. Maybe have a few 2 inning outings to get him close to 100 innings.

Colson and Murakami. These will be common causes of wins this year.

Makes no sense.

Seranthony almost blew that by doing what Sox relievers did so many times last year - walking the lead-off batter in the ninth with a three run lead. A lot of stress watching the last batter with Vlad up next. Would like to see a more dominant Closing performance.

2-0 when doing it so doesn't seem like a waste.

I feel like using him late in a game when it matters more is a lot more useful than in the first inning when hitters have their lowest avg through the lineup, if you wanna use an opener you don't need it to be our best pitcher

Rather save him for high leverage situations. 18 pitches, 6 outs is a pretty impressive (albeit small) stretch though. If there must be an opener, throw Hicks out there.

Btw, if Thursday's postponed game was moved to Friday, isn't it strange that the first two series of the season had a scheduled off day between games 1 and 2? What's up with that?

If you want him as a future closer, then sure. But if they are leaving the starting door open for next season then they'll need to use him in more than one circumstance.

Saving him for leverage only would make it hard to get to their innings target.

Fair point. I'm basically resigned to the fact that Grant isn't gonna start though. I don't think the injury concerns re: his extension have went away.
