Bring up Braden Montgomery to play Right Field

Featured Replies

Getz has stated that Braden will not be promoted from AA to the major league club. As a fan, I reserve the right to disagree and I do.

Antonacci earned the starting job in LF because he hits and runs and gets on base in clutch situations, and Chase is playing 2B.

Tristan Peters has earned the CF job by a surprisingly wide margin. He has speed and looks natural fielding that position. He has also proven from Opening Day on that he can hit in the clutch, bunt or scratch a base hit.

So that leaves RF. The default RFer right now is Hays, who is adequate, but hasn't done that much to prove that RF is his.The way the White Sox are going now, I think Braden would fit right in and provide power from both sides of the plate.

Beyond RF - Sox could also use a RH DH and of course, Teel , although his return to the club seems even more uncertain as time goes by.

I dream of this team with Teel and Braden in the line-up. Even more HR power.

It's a good dream. It'll have to wait a bit longer. I don't think some time in June is out of the question. Maybe after the TDL.

Hopefully Teel can get back in the lineup by Mid to late May .

tray isn't wrong. Braden is better than the trash we are putting out there currently.

can't sacrifice proper development for a couple of wins at the big league level

Sale

Crochet

Carson Fulmer

Vaughn

Madrigal

too many Sox prospects have been rushed to the big league level to cover up holes there

Braden also didn't get any milb reps his draft year

give this until at least June to sort itself out

Hays needs at least 2 months of everyday playing time as well in order to boost his trade value...Braden is a very solid prospect but he's not Konnor Griffin either and still has to address the swing and miss aspects of his game before he feels all the pressure at the big league level to produce

Braden should be promoted to AAA first. He has improved walk rate, shown awesome improvement in game power and has gotten K% down slightly under 25% finally, but we still need to see what happens to the average and K% when he hits AAA. If it spikes to over 30%, he's gonna need a couple of months to work on it further. Alot of our guys struggled with the jump from AA to AAA. Need to see what he does with it first for at least a couple months but there's a decent shot he could be in Chicago by August or September.

He should be promoted to AAA tho.

We haven’t had a right fielder in many moons and eventually Braden should be the guy, they probably should send him up to Charlotte and if he excels there then they should bring him up at mid-season.
