If they tied the game and Hays was indeed unavailable, I have no idea what the B9 defense was going to look like.

Oh, that's why Hays didn't pinch hit. If they did tie, Hays would have been RF in the bottom of the 9th.

I hope it's the day game, would be dumb to have him play a night into day game if you're already planning on giving him rest. I guess they could rest him in game 2. maybe they'll plan it based on if the Sox can win another series

I assume he'll play game 1 to give them a better chance vs. Soriano. Might depend on pitching matchups from there, don't know who LA has replacing Kikuchi in the rotation.

Looks like maybe Caden Dana, in which case I'd lean towards Game 2 off.

I mean, I get it. He looked terrible in the AB. But not many guys are going to go up there against Mason, and look great.

We took the series, and had a shot to sweep. Take that energy to Anaheim and keep the train a goin'.

I like the fight of the team . They played a good Padres team well. But we need a set lineup for consistency.

the forfeit lineup

I really wanted them to go 6 in a row, then 7....8....

When Mason Miller throws his slider in the "waste" zone, meaning they miss the zone by over a foot, hitters still swing over 50% of the time. Might be the nastiest pitch in baseball.

He was throwing his pitches in the zone too and it looked unhittable.

i said earlier he's a contact hitter who doesn't swing at easy pitches then tries to pull sliders like he's vlad guerrero

you're not gonna get everyday lineups until after the trade deadline. Getz is doing his yearly M.O. of acquiring scraps and then giving them more playtime than they deserve in hopes someone wants to give up prospects for them

Mason Miller looked great. He was traded by A's last year for 4 prospects. I don't know how they are doing. Maybe someone here knows, or I might just look it up myself.

Bullpen sucks in 8th inning like forever

Can't blame that on the pitcher. Cheap single. Misplay by Mune and Meidroth on same play.

Everyone literally everyone thought it was insane to trade a top 10 prospect for a reliever and whoever the psycho on the padres that approved and came up with it is looking like a genius

for now, but they did just lose a series to the white sox who knows

Your closer can't close a lead the starters didn't get to him.
