Win or lose let's hope to see better energy from the guys tonight. Let's go!

I am drinking every time Kay goes 3-2. Hammered already. Get him out before I end up in the ER.

This s%*# all went against us in '24 and '25. f*** everybody!!! Nice to see Bo Naylor not make a couple of plays. Maybe he could take his bat out to 1B.

Josh??

Very similar to the 2-1 win at home vs. SEA last week. Gave up 1 in the 1st, pitching kept them in it until they put up 2 in the 8th.

Nice to ensure a split at worst of the season series, in case that ends up mattering. Also nice to match CLE who won earlier. KC/DET/MIN all lost.

Credit to Kay for keeping the team in it and finding some quick innings in the middle.

Credit to Will for great bullpen management and a key double steal.

That was huge. Also big credit to Mune not trying to be the hero and taking his walk.

Do you think he tries to throw more of his secondary pitches when he goes multiple innings, leading to more hangers?

I seem to remember he just has control issues in the 2nd inning (remember that game against San Diego?). It's weird because he was a starter in college. You'd think he would be fine sitting between innings.

IMO, Sox do not have enough trustworthy relievers to use an opener for Kay except in special cases

Tristan and Hill would seem to make Acuna unnecessary but no, Getz won't DFA him.

Neither Peters or Hill play SS.

Wow. The wine's kicking in quick. Don't talk down our catchers, or I'm gonna blow!!

I'd be pissed off too if I got blooped to death.

Playing their infield in killed them, but that’s what every team does in the situation.

Miguel's probably getting the day off tomorrow. His hand might be the size of an orange tonight.

YYYEEEAAAAHHHH

BUDDY!!!

Had no business winning this game but we will take it

I'm probably something approximating an Acuna booster but I think it's fairly clear the Sox have seen him as a dead man walking for at least a couple weeks now. I don't think he survives the upcoming returns of Hays and soon thereafter, Pereira. I might lean towards just cutting Grichuk when Hays comes back but that will only delay the inevitable with regard to Acuna if the rest of the current squad stays healthy.

If I’m writing that, I’d say zero runs since we are qualifying it with “after the second batter”.

Definitely the case on Meidroth's hit. Beni's liner might actually be a hit if the infield was at normal depth.

what was the reason for using Castilllo so long?

and not letting Munoz have a clean inning?

Castillo has had a bad year but has too much Mariners cred for them to unceremoniously stick him in the pen...so when Bryce Miller got healthy, they said they would piggyback them for a start (this one) to line things up and then go to a 6 man.

So they still wanted Castillo to get some length today, and presumably weren't expecting a 1-0 situation.

Bros out in right field made me think of

RH opener against tough rhb'ers?

who though?

Vasil role last year

They were using Taylor for this earlier in the year, but that's not gonna happen now.

Hill >>> Acuna

has to be the end for him tonight

Supporting Acuna and Quero in the same lineup, with their below the Mendoza line batting average is unsustainable. Hill much better than Acuna. Benintendi starting to hit also helps. We also found the new. 9th inning closer in Taylor.

If Seranthony was closing tonight, we may not have won this game.

Also it feels great that both the hits in the 9th got past Josh Naylor.

7th time this season the Sox trailed in the 7th inning or later and won the game.

Taylor sure made a strong case tonight to be the closer in my opinion.

There was probably good reasons for all that. Those teams never had…je ne sais quoi

I don't think Dominguez has looked anything like that at any point this season.

Didn't think Taylor had the stones to be a closer but I love being wrong. Even threw his curve for a strike a few times after that awful first one

What are the stats on 9th inning comebacks?
