5/23 3:05 CDT Sox at Giants Game 2: Houser against Hudson

Featured Replies

Gonna need another good offensive performance. Hopefully Houser can at least get into the 5th inning without too much damage.

Same lineup as last night but Romo is 9th and Kelenic 7th. Odds don't like Sox in this one. Giants are -115.

Houser got off to a rocky start but 2-0 in his last 2 starts giving up just 3 runs in 11 2/3 innings against the Dodgers and A's, 2 pretty good lineups.

Fedde is 2-1 in 3 career stsrts against the Giants with a 1.69 ERA. The Sox have won 4 of the last 5 games he has pitched but he has no wins.

Hicks has a strained lat and Leasure is back.

On the season, Houser has allowed a 1.100+ OPS to lefties and a .958 OPS at Oracle.

But he's been much better in May (.591 OPS against in 3 starts) though a .167 BABIP suggests some luck there. He's also been better in day games than night games.

He's got a higher walk rate and lower K rate compared to his time as a Sox, so there should be pitches to hit.

Sheets hit one into the Cove off him, would be fun to see Mune or Montgomery do the same.

I just am not a fan of putting one of your best relievers as an opener. Would rather have Newcomb since he might actually be able to go 3 innings if needed

Late night early morning as I had to go into the office at 10 today our time after drinks last night (finally nice weather here and it's time to get out). Thanks for the friendly correction!

Don't like Hudson being used as an opener or Venable making it clear that Dominguez is the Closer....but I'm not the Manager so it is what it is.

If there is a new closer it would be Grant Taylor not Hudson.

Let’s win the series right here! Let’s go Sox!

I don't mind using him as an opener but it hopefully means 2 clean innings.

Another day without a strike zone on CHSN?

Man Sam is learning on the job. That was a hard play, well done.

I've been fooled on swings numerous times this series. Thought that was hit much better.

Colson is 0-1 every AB.

Montgomery has looked awful for a while now.

Looks like White Sox Houser today

Marquette basketball coach Al McGuire used to always say, “The best thing about freshmen is they become sophomores.”

That’s how I feel about Antonnaci’s defense in left field.

Must be close to 0 for his last 20.
