If Mune is back strong in 3 weeks it's not a huge loss and might give us a glimpse into what Gonzo can do at a MLB level. Nobody is happy with Mune going down but hey at least we have some options to hopefully absorb the loss for a month.

If Gonzo makes it for the game, I would play him at SS, his natural position for his 1st game, with Monty at 3rd, & Vargas at 1st. Can move him to 1st (or not) Sunday once he settles in.

Jesus, when in the last 20 years did a starter get injured, and the person called up to take his place on the roster was as heralded as Gonzo? I mean, it's been Charlie Wilson, or JB Shuck, or Danny Mendick. Gonzo will most likely OPS .600 and be sent right back down on Mune's return, or maybe he'll stick. It's a fun story line.

Had a cubs fan buddy ask me “you think they’ll be worse without Mune?” No s%*#. Dude has a record for home runs in a season by June. Of course we’ll feel it.

Ron, we don't even wish those kinds of injuries on PCA...even if half or mostly jokingly.

At any rate, the biggest test of the season is coming up. Let's see how they respond to a taste of real adversity.

For the Tigers, they just might end up with a haul of prospects for Skubal, and the Twins might get to select Lackey.

Funny Jacob Gonzalez fact for me is his place of birth is Glendora, California. My high school sweetheart moved there and after my divorce, I moved there, got a place with her, and for a while thought I’d have a movie like romance story to tell.

She was a cheerleader for the LA Kings.

It only lasted a few months before I figured out that even though she was on Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition calendars, she was the most insecure woman I’d ever dated… which says a lot. 😆

I thought he tweaked something in his back.Stone noticed a grimace and he reached for his back.But after the game he's lifting the big Gatorade bucket to dump on Vargas which isn't going to help a sore back. So maybe it was nothing .

I checked flights tomorrow morning from CLT to both Chicago airports and there are a few options where he could get to the park around 11:00.

So, he should be starting tomorrow.
