I thought he tweaked something in his back.Stone noticed a grimace and he reached for his back. But after the game he's lifting the big Gatorade bucket to dump on Vargas which isn't going to help a sore back. So maybe it was nothing .

Colson has signs of the Joe Crede lower back issues. From what I recall, they have been something he battles here and there on a somewhat regular basis. First time I think I heard anything of the sort was last season after he was called up.

  • Before anyone says Benintendi is hitting well lately: He's got .148/.148/.333 over his last 7 and .204/.273/.600 over his last 15. For a guy that's played 3 innings of defense all years, that's horrib

  • Unrelated, but Charlotte's stadium has such a great outfield skyline.

If you watch him he's always kind of twitchy wiggling around his shoulders. I'm as tall as he is and was fairly athletic but I had a bad back so I was always twitchy like that too already trying to keep it loose.

I checked flights tomorrow morning from CLT to both Chicago airports and there are a few options where he could get to the park around 11:00.

So, he should be starting tomorrow.

I'm sure the Sox have a charter service and if he is indeed called up, he's probably already in Chicago.

Doubt we see him tomorrow with Framber on the mound.

No matter how they shuffle the infield, its a lefty bat that will fill the void. It'll be Gonzalez. Besides, it's his birthday.

I'd temper some expectations with Gonzalez. We all know how Truist Field plays, and his home/road splits are quite drastic...

Home: .356/.468/.856/1.324

Away: .253/.349/.407/.756

I hope he really has figured some stuff out (I hated when they drafted him), and it would be nice to have another success story - but I do think the vast majority of his performance is more along the lines of a MiLB park factor than anything else.

Hope so! You think King Jerry is down to drop 40k to get him there tonight when he could pay $300 instead and have him there three hours before game time? 😆
